The New England Patriots invited several member of the 2013 Boston Red Sox to Gillette Stadium this past Sunday to honor their World Series championship prior to kickoff against the Pittsburgh Steelers. More than a half-dozen Sox players showed up, and multiple Patriots players were quite astonished by how small they were in person. Fortunately for us, Bill Belichick was mic’d up before the game and we got to hear some of the chatter about those baseball midgets. Josh McDaniels: “They’re tiny.” Bill Belichick: “Oh, I know…they’re little.” JM: “It’s unbelievable.” BB: “Pedroia is like 150 pounds.” JM: “Victorino is like 20 pounds less than Amendola.” Even Tom Terrific got in on the joke. Tom Brady: “They must be going, ‘Geez, these guys are huge!’” Bill Belichick: “They’re so little.” Does this count as bullying? Are all NFL players just big, mean jerks who pick on the smaller guys? Do we need an internal investigation here? [NFL] Article found on: Next Impulse Sport

The New England Patriots: The Patriot way’s new core

Nobody lurks in the shadows of the NFL quite like the New England Patriots. Following Wednesday’s entrée of a World Series victory for the Boston Red Sox, what better for dessert than a Patriots blowout victory over the struggling Pittsburgh Steelers? Week after week the Patriots seem to grow a little more. Week after week the Patriots seem to get ignored a little more. But the...

Brady doesn't tire of talking about rest

Here’s a thing about Tom Brady maybe you hadn’t noticed. Guy never shuts up about other people sleeping. It’s always, “Make sure you get your rest...” and “It’s important for us to get our rest...” From postgame breakdowns to press conferences, the guy never tires talking about not being tired. Brady has opened a sports performance shop at Patriot Place and, when...

Kenbrell Thompkins gets vote of confidence from Bill Belichick

The Patriots offense lit up the Steelers on Sunday in Foxborough. Tom Brady had his way with the Pittsburgh secondary and spread the ball around to a variety of pass-catchers. One player who did not show up on the stat sheet, or on the field, was rookie wideout Kenbrell Thompkins, who was a surprising healthy scratch for the game. Brady, Patriots lead way - surprise! - in AFC East

(Eds: With AP Photos.) By DENNIS WASZAK Jr. AP Sports Writer These aren't the same New England Patriots everyone's used to seeing. Sure, it's still Bill Belichick and Tom Brady, but who are those receivers? And, with all the injuries, who are some of those guys on defense? Well, it doesn't matter. The Patriots are still the class of the AFC East, despite new faces...

Shane Vereen Will Have Huge Impact on Patriots’ Offense As Tom Brady Has Missed Third-Down Running Back (Mailbag)

The Patriots couldn’t be entering the bye week at a better time. Players are banged up, the team’s coming off its best victory of the season and there’s plenty of time to prepare for a Panthers team that matches up with New England extremely well. Luckily for the Patriots, they could be getting back Aqib Talib and Shane Vereen in that game. An opposing team has no tape...

Why You Shouldn't Get Too Excited About Our Win vs Pittsburgh

For the first time since the Tampa Bay game in Week 2, I watched the Patriots play a game where I had almost no doubt in my mind that, barring a miracle, we would win the game. When Pittsburgh reeled off 14 straight points in the third quarter I was a bit on edge, but Tom Brady and the offense took care of that in a hurry. HOWEVER, let's not jump on the idea that the ship has...
