Bills RB Fred Jackson is ahead of schedule in his return from a knee injury, coach Chan Gailey revealed on Thursday.
Jackson has done some light work alongside trainers during practices this week and is moving well after suffering a knee sprain in Week 1 against the New York Jets.
Yeah, he is [ahead], Gailey said. He must be a fast healer.
Jackson was initially expected to miss 1-2 months of action. On Monday, CBSSports.com's Jason LaCanfora reported that Jackson may now miss only 3-4 weeks, which looks like a more reasonable expectation based on recent developments. Source: CBS Sports

Chan Gailey refuses to be pigeon-holed as a pass-first coach just because he's introduced several fancy four-receiver spread formations to the Buffalo Bills repertoire.
Gailey still has plenty of old-school throwback in him to appreciate a good ground attack. If he had his druthers, Gailey would call a run every chance he had.
''Every snap,'' Gailey said Wednesday...
Former NFL quarterback Vince Young is downplaying what he calls ''unfortunate'' financial problems caused by the ''betrayal'' of trusted advisers.
''Yes, I need a job, who doesn't. Yes, I want to be out there playing the game I love and earning a paycheck, who wouldn't?'' Young wrote on his Twitter account Wednesday.
Linebacker Nick Barnett refuses to go as far back as last season when adding up the Buffalo Bills' string of road woes.
To him, the count stands at 0-1 - and not 0-8 for a team that's not won away from home since its 2011 season-opening 41-7 victory at Kansas City.
Barnett will concede that the Bills have plenty of room for improvement after opening the season with a 48...

There are two ways of looking at this.
Maybe VY just having a bad day and wanted to retweet someone who was making a terrible comparison, but was supporting him or VY really believes this.
If it is the former I get it, if it is the latter then you have your answer as to why he isn’t playing currently in the NFL.
I know all my haters are happy that I’m not playing football...
It’s Week Three, which is good because it is time for the Dick Jauron song. Week Three is great because the Buffalo Bros are back for another jam-packed podcast. Jason, Sniper, Blake and Topher have joined forces to talk about next Sunday’s game, Toronto, regionalization, fantasy implications of Bills players, and much much more. And they have fun doing it. And you’ll have...
Bills free safety Jairus Byrd has made great strides in the past 24 hours, and it now looks like he'll be ready to face the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
It's something that's there," Byrd said, "but hopefully as things progress it will stay on track and I'll be good Sunday.
Byrd missed Wednesday's practice with an ankle injury but was able to...

DALLAS (AP) -- Six years after entering the NFL as the third player taken in the draft, Vince Young finds himself without a team and with just a fraction of the money he received from a contract that guaranteed him 26 million.
The question is, where did it all go?
In an increasingly caustic war of words, attorneys have been arguing for months...
The Cleveland Browns take on the Buffalo Bills this Sunday in what could very well be Brandon Weeden’s last game this season if he is not protected well. Weeden is just starting to show some promise playing in the NFL, he played well in Cincinnati but lets face it, the Bengals don’t have the defense the Buffalo Bills have. Weeden was outside the pocket a few times by design in...
In what seems to be a yearly affair, the Buffalo Bills are taking on the Cleveland Browns this Sunday in Cleveland. There are a few things to watch for in this game before one can make a solid prediction on the game.
Rookie running back Trent Richardson showed the league what he is capable of last week by earning his first 100-yard game. Richardson is elusive and powerful. The Bills...
C.J. Spiller came up big again, but solid defense, special teams and quarterback play also helped the Buffalo Bills break into the win column last week.
The Cleveland Browns are still looking for the right combination that will help them earn their first victory in nine games, which they'll try for Sunday against a Buffalo team looking to end an eight-game road slide.
Buffalo Bills safety Da'Norris Searcy was fined $21,000 for an illegal hit to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Kevin Boss last Sunday, according to NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk. Boss exited the game with a concussion and he is out this Sunday against the New Orleans Saints because of it.
In two polarizing weeks, Ryan Fitzpatrick, C.J. Spiller and the Buffalo Bills showed fans a full range of possibilities. They sat back and allowed the New York Jets to pummel them, then dished that treatment out in kind to the Kansas City Chiefs. It’s safe to say the real Buffalo Bills fall somewhere in the middle of all that. If so, then it’s tough to argue this team is perfect...
