Last week, former Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy told Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com that he believed safety Bob Sanders would be back in Indy next season. Now, it appears that won’t be the case as Sanders has agreed to join the San Diego Chargers. On Thursday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Sanders plans to sign a one-year deal with San Diego. Sanders was released by the Colts on February 18 and visited with the Jaguars, Bills, and Jets before making the decision to join the Chargers. A few years ago, Sanders was considered one of the top safeties in the NFL–which led him to signing a lucrative five-year deal for $37.5 million ($20 million guaranteed) with the Colts. Unfortunately, Sanders has seen his fair-share of injuries over the last three seasons–playing in just nine games since 2008.
