You talk about immediate impact, Anquan Boldin quickly proved that picking up this proven All-Pro, Super Bowl champion was a very smart move for San Francisco. Last Sunday Boldin absolutely destroyed the Green Bay Packers secondary in a big 34-28 opening win. There were whispers that he was too old, overpaid, blah, blah, blah. You 13 receptions for 208 yards and a touchdown has a way of making the league rethink their evaluation. Never count out an NFL warrior.Because as phenomenal as Boldin’s numbers were, that’s just the beginning of the story with him. It’s the intangibles that a player like Boldin brings to the team, and has the biggest effect. Note the play that sportscasters talked for days about where Clay Matthews superman’d through the air and hit Colin Kaepernik out of bounds. Joe Staley of course came over and stood up for his quarterback but look at the replay and see who else was over there. Anquan Boldin was right there in the mix to show that, yes this is a new team b...

49ers: Key Players Must Deliver Against Seattle

Just like every NFL team in this league, none of them are what you call “perfect” on both sides of the ball. Evidently, the San Francisco 49ers did have some noticeable imperfections on both their offensive line and defensive secondary against the Green Bay Packers. On Sunday, the 49ers will face their long time nemesis the Seattle Seahawks, continuing one of the best rivalries...

San Francisco 49ers: Week 2 at Seattle

Sunday night football features the most anticipated quarterback matchup so far and no I’m not talking about the Manning bowl. It’s Kaepernick and Wilson. A whole offseason of back and forth smack and twitter wars will end as the Seahawks and the 49ers collide in a matchup of the two most complete teams in NFL. Both teams are coming of victories but they achieved them in different...

NFL Week 2 Previews, Winners and Losers

To begin Week 2 of the NFL, everyone were losers. The Jets lost to the New England Patriots 13-10, Tom Brady lost his cool with his young receivers and the fans lost because they suffered through a poor viewing of football.  The only performer of the evening that lived up to its billing was the weather as the downpour had its effect. Tons of plays were left on the field due to bad...

Russell Wilson or Colin Kaepernick as an Eagle?

(Image courtesy of blacksportsonline.com) Courtesy of ESPN’s Adam Schefter (via Barry Petchesky of Deadspin.com) comes this little nugget of information: The Eagles were close to trading for Colin Kaepernick prior to the 2012 draft. Rather than making a trade for Kaepernick, whom the San Francisco 49ers were ready to part with because of Alex Smith, the Eagles wanted to draft Russell...

49ers OL Alex Boone Wants To Punch Clay Matthews In The Face (Video)

San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Alex Boone is not satisfied with the $15,000 fine Clay Matthews received for his late hit on Colin Kaepernick last weekend. Boone is pissed, and told the media that “he wants to punch Matthews in the face.” “Probably just punch him in the face,” Boone answered when asked how much he would have fined Matthews. “No, I don’t want...

Seattle Seahawks vs. San Francisco 49ers: 4 Things To Look For

Since the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks became the teams-to-beat with their spectacular talent on defense, and offense; many NFL fans consider them evenly match, with the 49ers defeating the Seahawks in their first meeting last season, 13-6, and the Seahawks defeating the 49ers in their second meeting in 2012, 42-13.Colin Kaepernick(SF) and Russell Wilson(SEA) have...

49ers’ Alex Boone would like to punch Clay Matthews in the face

The NFL fined Packers linebacker Clay Matthews Jr. for tackling 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick out of bounds last week. I reporter asked 49ers offensive lineman Alex Boone how much he would fine Matthews. “Probably punch him in the face,” Boone said, via CSNBayArea.com. “I don’t want his money.”   I’m sure everyone on the 49ers feels the same way Boone does.   Need...

Richard Sherman has no problem with Colin Kaepernick’s bicep kiss celebration

Given that Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman is a known provocateur on the football field — as well as off it — perhaps it should not be surprising that he said he has no problem with San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kapernick’s patented touchdown celebration of kissing his bicep. Heading into a huge showdown with […]The post Richard Sherman has no problem...

49ers Alex Boone: I'd like to punch Clay Matthews in the face

Five days after the San Francisco 49ers took down the Green Bay Packers it's time to move past the beef between Clay Matthews and Jim Harbaugh. The Packers linebacker was fined $15000 Friday for his late hit on 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and Harbaugh has nothing left to say. "I have zero reaction to the fines" Harbaugh said Friday. "At the direction of...

Johnny Manziel Does His Best Impersonation of ‘Kaepernicking’ After Taking 14-0 Lead in First Quarter (GIF)

If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery then Colin Kaepernick must be feeling pretty good about himself right now. Texas A&M stormed out to a 14-0 lead over Alabama in the first quarter of Saturday’s highly-anticipated rematch. The early lead was cause for celebration for the Aggies, and Johnny Manziel paid homage to the San Francisco 49ers quarterback with a quick kiss...

Jim Harbaugh will get a chance to defeat Pete Carroll on his birthday

Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com pointed out that the Seahawks and head coach Pete Carroll rolled over Jim Harbaugh and the 49ers on Harbaugh’s 49th birthday. When both teams meet on Sunday night,  it will be Carroll’s 62nd birthday and Harbaugh will have a chance at some revenge. The only problem for the 49ers is that game will be played in Seattle, which is where they got...

Ahmad Brooks fined for hitting Aaron Rodgers

Well it looks like Clay Matthews Jr. wasn’t the only linebacker fined from last week’s battle between the 49ers and Packers. According to ProFootballTalk.com,  49ers linebacker Ahmad Brooks was hit with a $12,500 fine for roughing Aaron Rodgers. Brooks was docked $12,500 for roughing Aaron Rodgers. Brooks was penalized on the play, and it was a costly penalty that helped the...

Matthews Not Dirty; He's Awesome

With a smile and a joke, Clay Matthews puts an end to the simmering emotions from last week's late hit against San Francisco and Jim Harbaugh's postgame criticism.

2103 Fantasy Football, Week 2 Gold Mine: Little Owned Players, Big Potential

Week 1 is officially in the books and what a week it was. Fantasy owners saw Peyton Manning (DEN) light up the field with a NFL Record 7 TDs (tied) on opening night. The Cowboys defense scored twice including forcing 6 turnovers, LeSean McCoy (PHI) ran for more than 180 yards on Monday night and Colin Kaepernick (SF) and Anquan Boldin (SF) connected 12 times for 208 yards. But the...

2013 Fantasy PPR Week 2 Wide Receiver Rankings: Top 40

Every time teams take the field in the National Football League, fantasy football owners can learn something and week 1 of the season was no different. One of the biggest takeaways from week one, in my humble opinion, at least where the wide receiver position is concerned, was Anquan Boldin. Boldin, who at the start of the season was in my eyes no more than a solid WR3, was completely...
