A potential trade between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Miami Dolphins for tackle Branden Albert is unlikely if Albert doesn't lower his price, according to Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports.
Although both teams can find at least common ground on second round pick for Albert, the tackle's demands for a new contract are exceeding or close to what Jake Long just received in St. Louis. Long is in St. Louis because Miami didn't want to give him that kind of money.
Albert, according to Cole, writes that this trade can only happen if the ' $8 million-$9 million a year it's believed he's seeking in a long-term deal – comes down significantly. Albert is a franchise player, which comes with a one-year, $9.8 million base. Kansas City would love to get a second-round pick for him, clearing the way for the Chiefs to take Luke Joeckel at No. 1 overall and then get another player rather than take Joeckel and then lose Albert to free agency after the season.
