Brandon Marshall has steadfastly maintained his innocence throughout these new allegations against him that he punched a young woman at a night club.  The Chicago Bears have also maintained that they are confident in Marshall and that there was no risk in making this trade.

Now comes from the New York Post reports that the alleged victim in this case has gone into hiding after missing her meeting with detectives regarding the incident.   This development also coincides with the peculiar fact that the alleged victim did not file the police report the night of the incident or immediately following the incident at the club.  The alleged victim filed the police report on late Monday night with the Harlem police department in her neighborhood.

This type of behavior begins to call into question the validity of the allegations against Marshall.  Further tarnishing the image of Marshall, and already putting Marshall into a negative light with the Bears media.

Other news also has police reviewing security tape from the night of the incident to see if Marshall did in fact punch the victim as she alleges.  While the security tape may not be the end all be all in exonerating Marshall, it should give us a better indication of what happened.

Of note to follow is the crime of filing a false police report and making false allegations, which could possibly explain why the victim is now in hiding.  There very well could bee a legitimate reason the alleged victim missed her meeting with detectives and very well could be a reason she has not contacted detectives regarding the missed meeting, but whatever the reason this issue needs to resolved immediately.  Allegations of assault especially by NFL players are taken seriously at all levels and there needs to be responsibility shown by both parties.  If Marshall is guilty he needs to be punished accordingly, if he is being falsely accused then the victim needs to be dealt with, with equal parts justice.
