Last year Byrd had 5 interceptions and 53 solo tackles with 23 assists. He is a shut down player and has potential to be one of the leagues top safeties. Byrd has missed all of the Bills’ training camp, mini camps and OTAs. Tomorrow is Buffalo’s last practice at St. John Fisher College in Pittsford, NY. Believe this: Jairus Byrd is not thrilled about returning to the Buffalo Bills on their terms.
There's no reason to doubt Byrd will enjoy playing football or that he'll bring the competitiveness that sent him to two Pro Bowls in his first four seasons. I'll be surprised if Byrd's first comments to reporters don't include flowery remarks about the Bills.
