Down and Distance:
Per a report from Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, the Rams and Redskins have came to an agreement on the Rams second overall pick in April’s NFL Draft. The trade consists of this years Redskins first round pick, 2013 and 2014′s first round picks and a second rounder in the 2013 NFL Draft. The Rams have been very vocal in the shopping of the pick. Rams GM Les Snead was featured on a Rich Eisen podcast last week and hinted that they may be looking for at least three first round picks.
Many believe that the Redskins will use this pick to draft Baylor QB Robert Griffin III. There were also rumors circulating that the Browns would be interested in moving up to draft Griffin as well, so the Skins had to jump on it early. This also seems to remove the Redskins out of the Peyton Manning talks.
This is a move that will either cement the jobs of Mike Shanahan and Bruce Allen, or have them shown the door in a very quick manner. A very costly price to move up a few spots in the draft.
