GM Brian Xanders' days in Denver are done, the Broncos have confirmed today. The team and Xanders have "mutually decided to part ways"., or usually in another term, "we fired him". The news was first reported by the Denver Post's Mike Klis. Elway is certainly making moves this offseason - downstairs with Peyton Manning and upstairs with the promotion of Matt Russell from director of college scouting to director of player personnel, to the dumping of his GM. Xanders, GM since 2009 and a holdover from the Josh McDaniels era, must have seen the writing on the wall.

Denver Broncos’ rushing attack will go from first to worst under Manning

Let’s face it. Low rushing totals are a byproduct of the pass-friendly league that is now the NFL. Teams pass so much now that it seems like they sometimes forget to run the ball. This is especially true of teams that have a signal-caller the quality of a Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers or a Drew Brees. Manning who usually called his own plays as quarterback of the Indianapolis...

Tebow, Manning, Elway battle for charity

Turns out Peyton Manning and Tim Tebow will be competing after all this season -- and John Elway is joining the fray for good measure. This competition is friendly, though, and won't be waged on the gridiron. The Denver Post reports that all three quarterbacks are involved with The Mask Project, a charity to benefit The Denver Hospice. As part of the project, celebrities, artists...

Peyton Manning at His Celebration of Caring Gala

So glad he's back T.. At the Celebration of Caring Gala for his Peyback Foundation, Manning mixed with party goers and the assembled media with whom he spoke for 15 minutes over the weekend — “I’ve been back a number of times,” said the former Colts quarterback, who signed with the Broncos after the team decided not to renew his contract option in March. “It’s been...

Xanders steps down as Broncos GM

Brian Xanders is out as general manager of the Denver Broncos after three years in that role and with a year left on his contract. Broncos boss John Elway said the decision to part ways was made in a meeting between the two men Monday. Elway said in a statement that Xanders' ''hard work and dedication played a major role in the recent success of our team, most notably...

Denver Broncos Fire GM Xanders

The Denver Broncos have fired GM Brian Xanders. Fantasy Spin: Xanders held the GM position in Denver since 2009, and will not be around to see the AFC West club defend their division title with prized offseason acquisition Peyton Manning under center. He will likely find another job in the NFL, and does have ties to Chicago GM Phil Emery (through their time spent together in the...

Broncos, GM Xanders part ways

The Broncos and general manager Brian Xanders have "parted ways," the team announced. Same old (boring) Steelers

The NFL is full of more excitement than ever. Blockbuster trades, Bountygate, Peyton Manning, Tim Tebow………the NFL gets more popular, and sensational every day. Meanwhile, the Steelers are their normal, boring selves. Thank goodness for that. Every year when free agency opens, the fans in all NFL cities hope to see what big name player [...]

Eli Manning DID Host Saturday Night Live. You’re Welcome, America!

You know who I think is hilarious? Me. I think I am hilarious. I crack myself up all the time. A few months ago, I decided Eli Manning should host Saturday Night Live. Then, I sketched out the basics of a whole episode.  When I found out last month that Eli Manning was actually going to host Saturday Night Live, I made a couple of revisions. Well, the big day has come and gone...

Winner Gets To Face Merton Hanks – Kill Kill Kill!

I’ll apologize at the outset for the lack of a death blow in this giraffe fight. I guess Discovery prefers not to be things like “exploitative” or “fun”. Either way, I enjoy the supreme awkwardness of this battle. It’s like the animal kingdom equivalent of a kicker fight in full pads, and they could only actually kick each other. Holy sh*t, I would pay so much money...
