According to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post, the Denver Broncos will not bring back running back Laurence Maroney. The news comes after the Broncos placed tenders on five of their players–which means Maroney will become an unrestricted free agent. Maroney has been nothing but a disappointment since the New England Patriots selected him in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft–starting just 17 games over his five-year career while dealing with numerous injuries. What’s even more disappointing is Maroney has never broke the 1,000-yard mark. The closest he’s ever come was in 2007 when he finished with 835 rushing yards. The Patriots traded Maroney to the Broncos last season along with a sixth-round draft pick in exchange for a fourth-round pick.
