Broncos cornerback Tracy Porter was enduring a rough afternoon Sunday, and a knee injury only exacerbated things.

Porter was kicked in the knee on the play in which Houston wide receiver Andre Johnson beat him on a post route for a 60-yard touchdown. The play opened Houston's scoring in the first quarter of its 31-25 win over Denver.

Although the injury does not appear serious for the long term, it was enough to eventually sideline him Sunday. Porter kept playing for two more possessions but succumbed after being beaten by Texans wide receiver Kevin Walter for a 52-yard touchdown that pushed Houston's lead to 21-5 in the second quarter.

"(Porter) actually got it kicked on the first one and he tried to go with it; he just couldn’t go, so it was next man up," Broncos coach John Fox said.
