Peyton Manning is so healthy he is healthier than last year. Remember that as the Broncos' starters not named Manning go down with an injury seemingly day by day. The latest significant injury at training camp occurred during practice Wednesday when starting right cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie was carted off the field because of a high left ankle injury. Signed as a free agent in March to a $5 million salary Rodgers-Cromartie is the second-highest-paid Denver defensive player. Left cornerback Champ Bailey is No. 1 at $10.75 million. Rodgers-Cromartie is expected to be out two to three weeks but by initial appearances it could have been worse. "As I've mentioned before it's part of the game" coach John Fox said. "We are going to have even more injuries as we go through camp. It is part of getting ready to play a pretty combative game and it gives other guys opportunities." Shudder to think but more injuries might be striking Dove Valley a...

Broncos trying to pry Ryan Lilja out of retirement

If Peyton Manning has his way he may be get to take snaps from his former Colts teammate afterall. While Jeff Saturday has no plans to unretire, the same may not be true for Ryan Lilja. The Broncos have offered Lilja, 31, a contract in hoping to bring him out of possible retirement, reports the Denver Post. Lilja had previously discussed a comeback attempt with the Kansas City Chiefs...

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie carted off with left leg injury

The Broncos haven't been having a great run lately either with potential suspensions (Von Miller) or major injuries (center Dan Koppen most notably). And they might have taken another hit Wednesday with cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie being carted off the field after suffering what appears to be a leg injury. According to Lindsay Jones of USA Today the cornerback "...

Manning has a patchwork pocket of protection

Peyton Manning is about to enter a season of Super Bowl expectations behind an offensive line that's full of questions, surgical scars, fresh faces and, yes, promise. Three centers with a combined 18 career starts at the position are vying for the starting job now that J.D. Walton and Dan Koppen are out, and the leading candidate, Manny Ramirez, has none of those starts, although...

Broncos Sign Former Manning Teammate

The lure of playing with Peyton Manning has brought former Indianapolis offensive lineman Ryan Lilja out of retirement.  The 32-year old Lilja agreed to a contract with the Denver Broncos.  Terms were not announced. Denver had been looking around for a center since starter Dan Koppen went down with a knee injury that will keep him out of the entire 2013 season.  Manny Ramirez...

2013 Denver Broncos Fantasy Football Projections

QB Peyton Manning (Denver) It’s possible that the addition of Welker can lead to be even further improved Manning, but I don’t find it that likely that Manning will surpass the arguably 2nd best season of his career (at least in terms of QB rating) in what is his age 37 season. It’s more likely that regression to the mean and normal diminishing physical skills for a 37-year...

Broncos agree to terms with OL Ryan Lilja

Ryan Lilja will step out of retirement to reunite with Peyton Manning. The veteran offensive lineman agreed to terms Wednesday with the Denver Broncos, who are desperate for a starting center following a season ending knee injury to Dan Koppen. Lilja, who turns 32 in October, has quite a bit of familiarity with Manning after playing guard for six seasons in Indianapolis. And while...

Ryan Lilja Comes Out of Retirement, Will Rejoin Peyton Manning in Denver

Ryan Lilja is trading the couch for camp, as the Denver Broncos have wooed the 31-year-old center out of retirement. The Broncos and Lilja, who officially retired from the game after last season, have agreed to a one-year deal, the team announced Wednesday. Center is still a relatively new position for the ninth-year pro, who started primarily at guard until last season, but he...

Broncos trying to lure center Ryan Lilja to Denver

Ryan Lilja and Peyton Manning go way back. They were teammates for six years with the Indianapolis Colts. They won a Super Bowl together in 2006. As of now Lilja is retired a little earlier than most offensive linemen at 31 years old. That's what the last three years with the Kansas City Chiefs will do to a guy. The Broncos though are trying to make Lilja and Manning teammates...

Broncos lure Ryan Lilja out of retirement

As unretired centers go Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning may have preferred Jeff Saturday. But with the center position in shambles and Manning presumably interested in not having whatever warm body installed at the position thrown into the quarterback’s knees he’ll likely settle for Ryan Lilja. The Broncos have announced that Lilja has agreed to terms with the team.
