Broncos defensive end Elvis Dumervil did not participate in practice Wednesday because of his strained left shoulder.
An MRI on Dumervil's left shoulder Monday revealed no tear, but there was a muscle strain. Dumervil is expected to test the shoulder in practice before the week is out, and there remains a chance he will play Sunday in the pivotal AFC West Division game against the San Diego Chargers at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
"(Dumervil) is in the meetings, we'll see what tomorrow brings," Broncos coach John Fox said about Dumervil's condition. "It's not a prolonged time (injury) supposedly, but we'll see. If he's not able to go, Robert Ayers will be in there and he played more than a half last week against Carolina and we have great confidence in Robert as well."
Back at practice, participating on a limited basis is right guard Chris Kuper, who was expected to be out at least one more week because of a left ankle injury. Broncos linebacker D.J. Williams also practiced Wednesday for the first time this season.
"I thought today was an excellent first day," Fox said of Williams. Source: Denver Post Attached Thumbnails
