The Denver Broncos recently signed kicker Matt Prater to a four-year, $13 million deal making him the fifth highest-paid NFL kicker. With the money and security, Prater says he can now settle down and look for a place of his own.

During an interview with CJ and Kreckman of 102.3 ESPN Denver's Sports Station, Prater told the guys he will celebrate his new deal by moving out of a hotel and into a condo or townhouse.

“I don’t know. I haven’t thought about it. I’m looking forward to, I’m actually in the process of looking for a condo or townhouse, because I’ve actually lived in a hotel for the last five years. So I’m excited about moving out of the hotel.”

Prater said one-year deals kept him from settling down in one place.

“Because I bought a house in Florida a couple years ago and just out here, it was real convenient for me. I was going two years in a row on a one-year deal so I didn’t want to buy a place and have to move.”

Prior to joining the Broncos in 2007 Prater was cut by three different teams - Lions , Dolphins and Falcons and at one point during the 2008 season, then-head coach Mike Shanahan was ready to replace him, so its understandable he never felt comfortable settling down.

Prater went 19-of-25 on field goals with 30 XPM during the 2011 season.
