The Denver Broncos have unveiled their 53-man roster, and although there aren't too many shocks of the 22 casualties, there are a few that are worth noting and analyzing.

Amongst the released were 10-year veteran cornerback Drayton Florence, third-year cornerback Syd'Quan Thompson, third-year safety Rafael Bush and sixth-year tackle Ryan Harris.

Florence was a surprise, because as recently as last week, he was listed as one of the top backup corner backs. He was listed as Champ Bailey's top backup, and he was expected to play in nickel and/or dime packages for the Broncos this season. Instead, Denver decided to keep young corners such as Omar Bodlen over veterans such as Florence and Thompson.

Bush isn't that shocking of a cut, but he was listed as the top backup at free safety. It's a bit shocking because the Broncos decided to keep safety Jim Leonhard, who really didn't play at all throughout training camp and the preseason, over Bush, who actually was pretty solid in moving up the depth chart throughout the preseason. This means the Broncos keep five safeties, with Leonhard, Quinton Carter, Mike Adams, Rahim Moore and David Bruton.

The Harris cut was expected. Entering training camp, Harris had a golden opportunity to regain a starting spot along the Broncos' offensive line. First of all, Harris was expected to challenge second-year tackle Orlando Franklin for a starting spot. That wasn't the case, as Franklin cemented his spot along the offensive line for a second straight year. When starting right guard Chris Kuper went down due to injury, it was backup utility offensive lineman, Manny Ramirez, who ended up taking his starting spot in the process.

Heck, even when John Fox was toying with different starting offensive lines after the injury to Kuper, he moved Franklin to right guard, and didn't plug in Harris at right tackle.

The Broncos ended up keeping all of their draftees from 2012 on the roster, including late-round draft picks that were on the bubble, such as Danny Trevathan, Malik Jackson and Philip Blake.
