Aaron Hernandez wasn’t the only NFL player arrested over the past 24 hours.
Cleveland Browns rookie Ausar Walcott was arrested and charged with attempted murder on Tuesday, according to NorthJersey.com.
Walcott, 23, punched a man in the head outside of the Palace Gentlemen’s Club in Passaic, New Jersey, around 3 a.m. on Monday night, according to Passaic police. The victim, 24-year-old Derrick Jones, was taken to a hospital in Manhattan, New York, and remained in critical condition on Tuesday evening, according to police.
Walcott has been charged with first-degree attempted murder, second-degree aggravated assault and third-degree endangering an injured victim. His bail was set at $500,000.
Walcott, a 6-foot-2, 230-pound linebacker from the University of Virginia, signed as an undrafted rookie with the Browns on May 13 and went through offseason workouts with the team.
