Cleveland Browns coach Pat Shurmur declined to say that Colt McCoy would be the starting quarterback in 2012 and he declined to comment on the team's plans at the position according to Tony Grossi of the Cleveland Plain Dealers. He said McCoy improved during a trying first season at the helm and said he needs to improve during the offseason. While he said he had a "very good conversation" in his exit interview with Peyton Hillis, Shurmur again declined to say whether he wanted the running back to return in 2012.

Shurmur: Offensive Coordinator Will Be Hired, Plenty of Competition for Starting Spots
It may have been largely rooted in the starting quarterback debate, but Browns head coach Pat Shurmur listed only two men – left tackle Joe Thomas and cornerback Joe Haden – as having guaranteed starting spots come 2012 training camp. A bit tongue-in-cheek, but easily setting the tone for what’s to come between now and the kick-off to the 2012 NFL season.

All Indiacators Are Saying Peyton Hillis Should Have Taken The Money And Ran
Peyton Hillis might have seen his last game for the Cleveland Browns Sunday as the Browns Battled the Steelers. Shurmur To Hire Coordinator Says Lots Of Friends Out Of Work In St.Louis
Pat Shurmur said the Browns will hire an offensive coordinator, He also said he has a lot of friends out of work in St. Louis. Lets hope Shurmur is kidding about that. The people in St.Louis are out of work for a reason. If these people were good for the game they would still be employed. The Browns do not need one of Shurmurs buddies coming from the Rams. The Rams stink worse than...

Browns QB & HB Up For Grabs In 2012
If I was a starter on the Cleveland Browns offense in 2011, I’d be very worried as it seems everyone will have to earn their job next season. This even includes quarterback Colt McCoy and might also mean Peyton Hillis may not be back. Personally, I can’t blame head coach Pat Shurmur for not guaranteeing starting spots as his team went 4-12.

What I Expect From Holmgren and Heckert’s Press Conference – (Not Much)
Yesterday Pat Shurmur seemed relieved in giving his review of the tumultuous first season with the Cleveland Browns. He talked about how it wasn’t good enough. He talked about hiring an offensive coordinator. He talked about cherishing the opportunity for a real off-season this year with a roster of players he now knows pretty intimately. As far as looking toward the future...
