TEAMS: Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts, Washington Redskins
Running back Trent Richardson and quarterback Brandon Weeden are two of 14 first-round picks from this years draft who have yet to sign their rookie contracts. Browns General Manager Tom Heckert said he hasnt talked to the agents for either player for a while, but he still expects both deals to be completed in time for training camp. Oh, yeah, Im sure they will [be in camp on time], Heckert said this afternoon during a conference call. Theres a lot of guys unsigned left, so theyll start falling into place here pretty soon, right before camp starts. But, yeah, theyll both be here. Richardson, the third overall pick, has repeatedly said hes waiting for the top two selections, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck and Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, to sign before completing his deal. Weeden, the 22nd overall pick, appeared to be itching for a resolution as he discussed the status of his contract June 29 during the NFL Rookie Symposium PLAY 60 Youth Football Clinic in Berea. Whats the politically correct answer here? Weeden said. I wish it was done, but I dont know. Itll get done. Were working. It takes two sides, though.

Richardson says he won’t change his running style in the NFL
Running backs can wear down quickly in the NFL, but the most talented running back to enter the league in years says he can’t let that fact change his physical running style. Browns rookie Trent Richardson said on NFL Network’s Total Access that he won’t avoid contact and will continue to run through tackles, and he thinks he can do that as a workhorse back for a 16-game season...
Tom Heckert calls Josh Gordon “eventual starter”
Most people in the comments seem satisfied with the risk level that the Browns took today in selecting Josh Gordon with a 2013 second round pick by way of the supplemental NFL draft. Gordon, like current Browns receiver Greg Little, has had an idle year before entering the NFL. Maybe that is why when Tom Heckert spoke to the media today after the pick, he referred to Gordon as an...
Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy just needs a fair chance
Can we at least give Colt McCoy a chance to battle Seneca Wallace in training camp for the backup position? Mike Holmgrem has stated that Colt McCoy was never really given a fair chance to be the starting quarterback last year. So in return, they decide to put him on the trading block? You don’t just get rid of a guy who was not given a fair chance, especially when that guy lives...
The Cleveland Browns have their new free safety in a healthy Eric Hagg
When the Cleveland Browns chose not to pursue long-time fixture defensive back Mike Adams in free agency, I felt shocked and worried. Adams did anything and everything asked of him and more. He was a great player here in Cleveland and will continue to be one in Denver. But during this off-season’s OTA’s and minicamps we are beginning to see why it was easy for the Browns brass...
Can Mike Holmgren Be Fair To Browns Q.B. Colt McCoy?
Mike Holmgren has said he likes Colt McCoy. Then Browns go out and draft a quarterback after the team tells McCoy he is going to be the guy and Browns head coach Pat Shurmur says he has seen enough. The question now becomes can Holmgren give McCoy a fair shot at leading the Cleveland Browns this season? Some think the Browns are still trying to trade McCoy. Others think he will be...
More trouble for the Cleveland Browns at defensive tackle.
First a torn pectoral removed defensive tackle Phil Taylor from the Cleveland Browns defensive game plan for most of the 2012 season. If that wasn’t enough, now there are potential problems for another defensive tackle for the Browns. But this time the issues are legal. The Player in question this time is Kiante Tripp.
DT/DE Kiante Tripp was picked up by Cleveland last season...
Browns Take Josh Gordon In Supplemental Draft The Guy was Suspended At Baylor
The Cleveland Browns are taking the chance on Josh Gordon, the guy that got suspended at Baylor for the use of pot. That’s right folks Cleveland Browns have got themselves a pot smoking wide receiver. I for one hope this helps him focus on catching the football, his eyes have got to be good from all the pot he has smoked. Gordon should give the Browns a weapon down the field, in...
Josh Gordon "shocked" he went so high in the supplemental draft
Former Baylor receiver Josh Gordon said “I was more than shocked for sure,” he told FOX 26 Sports in Houston after being picked in the 2nd round of the 2012 supplemental draft by the Cleveland Browns. “I definitely didn’t think that high, but I’m thankful for the opportunity. . . . I’m definitely in shock. It still probably hasn’t hit me yet.”
Josh's agent...
Josh Gordon’s Selection Signals Sense of Urgency in Berea
When it comes to the Urgency Alarm in Berea, Ohio, I’m admittedly torn on the visual. I like to believe that it’s a full-go, all-on sirens and lights show; bright orange and white, orbiting lights that, when shining in your rear-view mirror make your stomach fall to your ankles. The blaring of the sirens could be mistaken for an air raid or, at worst, a get-to-the shelter type...
Panic! Run Around In Circles!
Forrest Gump said, “Stupid is as stupid does.” If we translate that into an NFL language, we would say, “the Browns are as the Browns do.”
In today’s supplemental draft, the Browns picked up Baylor WR John Gordon, who was dismissed from the program last year after failing a drug test. In his sophomore season (2010), he caught 42 balls for 714 yds and 7 TDs. Pretty good...

Browns select Josh Gordon with second rounder in supplemental draft
The Cleveland Browns didn’t leave anything to chance in bidding a second rounder to select former Baylor receiver Josh Gordon. It has been confirmed on NFL.com, so you’ll have another receiver added to Mike Holmgren’s infamous “pile” that he talks about.
Tom Heckert and company must have really liked Gordon, or they were paranoid about bidding on another receiver and losing...

Early Cleveland Browns Offensive Questions As Training Camp Approaches
It’s amazing to consider that training camp begins in just two weeks. The Browns will kick-start their 2012 season with a helmet practice from 8:45-11:15 a.m. on Saturday, July 28.
In the meanwhile, it’s been a fairly exciting offseason for the Brownies, especially on the offensive side. In the past few years, defense was the focus, as the team added new talents such as Phil...
