The twitter brigade in Berea kept us informed today that rookie RB Trent Richardson was not on the practice field again, and that QB Brandon Weeden isn’t expected to play at all on Thursday.

Still no Trent Richardson for #Browns. Expected him on field by this point this week. I’m sure we’ll get the usual “he’s making progress.”

Not sure that Richardson would have gotten much accomplished today, as the team prepares for their final preseason game against the Bears. The Browns say he is “on target” to play in the opener.

Other news from Berea today was that Brandon Weeden will not play in the final preseason game.

“Starting quarterback Brandon Weeden won’t play in the Browns’ preseason finale Thursday night against the Chicago Bears, coach Pat Shurmur said this afternoon during his post-practice news conference. Colt McCoy will start, and fellow quarterbacks Seneca Wallace and Thaddeus Lewis also will play, Shurmur said.”

Not that anyone expected him to play much, but it could be argued the first unit could certainly use some work.
