Colt McCoy Terry Pluto of the Cleveland Plain Dealer “hears” that the Browns new front office doesn’t see QB Colt McCoy as “a viable starting option” moving forward. McCoy took the backseat to rookie QB Brandon Weeden this season, but the rookie didn’t exactly have the greatest first year in the league. McCoy is still a young quarterback who could be a serviceable backup if ended up in the right system. McCoy’s skill set doesn’t exactly mesh all that well with Norv Turner’s offense, so there stands at least a decent chance he could be playing elsewhere next season. Last year, rumors surfaced that the Browns were looking to trade McCoy, possibly to the Packers, but nothing ever materialized. Mohamed Massaquoi Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland writes that Browns WR Mohamed Massaquoi is not expected to be re-signed this offseason. Massaquoi, 26, has largely underachieved after being taken in the second round by the Browns back in the 2009 draft. Massaquoi has battled concussions and has never posted more than 650 yards receiving. With the emergence of WR Josh Gordon, Massaquoi has become expendable, even though they could use some additional help at receiver. At this point Massaquoi will be nothing more than a depth player for an NFL team. Ben Watson Tony Grossi also believes that TE Ben Watson will be allowed to test the free agent market. Watson, 32, was overshadowed this season by the younger TE Jordan Cameron.  Watson has provided veteran leadership to the young Browns team during his tenure. It would make sense to see him land with a team in need of a second-string tight end.   The post Browns Notes: Colt McCoy, Mohamed Massaquoi, Ben Watson appeared first on NFL Trade Rumors -.
