The Cleveland Browns got a much need shot in the arm when new owner Jimmy Haslam bought the organization. Haslam didn’t spend $1 billion as a majority owner to lose football games.
He has his coaching staff in place, personnel department scouring the NFL for talent, and he’s going to be right in the thick of it. The main question fans want to know about an owner is if he cares about winning, and Haslam is committed to turning the Browns around.
The coaches and Mike (Lombardi) and his staff are going through and looking at our roster first, they're looking at the free agent candidates second and we'll have a series of meetings and then we'll finalize those plans.
My instincts are strongly the same as we said on Aug. 3rd in Berea, that we'll continue to build through the draft and use free agency to supplement our team and improve our team where advantageous without mortgaging our future,'' via Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plains Dealer.
"I've seen some of the rumors, who we're going to sign and that's what makes the NFL so exciting. I'm glad a lot of people are covering it and a lot of people are interested.''
"Our family has a tremendous investment and we want to win as bad as anybody does up there and we're going to do whatever it takes to win.''
