Terry Pluto of the Cleveland Plain Dealer writes that the Browns could release QB Seneca Wallace should they draft someone like Oklahoma State QB Brandon Weeden. Weedens draft stock appears to be rising enough that he could force a team like the Browns to consider using their #22 overall pick on him. Cleveland will almost certainly add another quarterback at some point in the draft, so Wallace could be on the outs if they come away with an early round prospect. Speaking of roster spots, Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland mentions that that WR Carlton Mitchells roster spot could also be in jeopardy. The Browns took him in the sixth-round a few years back, but hes yet to show much of anything on the field.

Is Jason Pinkston the Browns true plan at right tackle?
From Jason Pinkston's Twitter - Doing Work
According to an article by Pat McManamon from March 30th there probably isn’t anyone on the Browns working harder this off-season than offensive lineman Jason Pinkston. Pinkston is headed into his sophomore season as an NFL player after being selected by the Browns in the fifth round of the NFL draft. He was thrust into a starting...
Cabot: Mock NFL Draft Still Says Blackmon to Browns
Give her credit for sticking to her guns through the entire process. Browns beat writer Mary Cay Cabot, despite outside pressures, has penned wide receiver Justin Blackmon to Cleveland in what is her fifth Sunday mock draft heading into this week’s festivities.
Tom Heckert told the Browns media this week that he’d like to stay at No. 4 and take one of the top two players left...
Greg Cosell: Browns must “shorten” the game with Trent Richardson
If Greg Cosell is right then the Browns will get the highest rated player in the draft overall at #4 this week. Interestingly enough, he echos a lot of what I was trying to say about Peter King’s stat of the week trumpeting the need for a passing game. Now Greg Cosell’s mock draft seems to back me up even more.
Cleveland: The Browns select my highest rated player, RB Trent Richardson...
NFL Draft 2012: Brandon Weeden Hopes to Go to Cleveland, Compete with McCoy
Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III, and Ryan Tannehill look to get off the board fast before the Cleveland Browns approach with their 22nd overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. With that, the next best quarterback looks to be Brandon Weeden out of Oklahoma State, as he sees himself at No. 22 or as far as No. 37 to be drafted by the Browns.
Weeden says if he is in fact drafted by the...
Offensive Positions Outside QB Are The Way Browns Should Go
With the NFL Draft set to begin on Thursday night and the Browns heavily involved in the first two days with three picks at 4, 22, and 37, there’s plenty of different routes that the Browns could take in attempting to improve an anemic offense and a defense with a need for more playmakers. You don’t hear me talk NFL Draft too often, primarily because I fail to see the point of...
Josh Cribbs ticketed for going 103 mph
Josh Cribbs created a lane for himself in the NFL by being a speedster on the field, returning an NFL record eight kickoffs for touchdowns. However being a speedster on the road doesn't cut it in the eyes of the law.
Cribbs was ticketed in Cleveland for going 103 mph in a 60 mph zone.
Cribbs was issued a speeding citation on Friday night at 8:45 p.m. for driving 103 miles...

Another view of Peter King’s stat of the week regarding running backs
Peter King does great work and his Monday Morning Quarterback column is a must-read. He has some really enlightening information in the column even if you sometimes question his sources. Obviously Tom Heckert does, as he blatantly told the Cleveland press this week that he hasn’t talked to King in years. Be that as it may, King was talking about the 2012 NFL draft and the Browns’...
Browns armed with 3 high picks
Browns general manager Tom Heckert's draft-day gamble last year is about to pay off.
Heckert traded down in the first round a year ago, giving the No. 6 overall pick to Atlanta and acquiring the Falcons' first-round pick this year (No. 22) as well as a fourth rounder.
The additional first-rounder should enable the Browns, who also have the No. 4 overall selection, to acquire...
Josh Cribbs Cited Going Over 100 MPH
Josh Cribbs is known for his speed in the field (at least he used to be)… But apparently he had the need for speed off the field as he was cited going 103 MPH in a 60 MPH zone. The report states that Cribbs was driving his 2010 Bentley on Interstate 71 when he was [...]
Brandon Weeden would love to compete to be the Browns starting quarterback
Oklahoma State quarterback Brandon Weeden gets the feeling that the Cleveland Browns are interested in him and he made it clear that he wouldn’t mind coming in and competing with Colt McCoy to be the starter in Cleveland next season.
“I know Colt had a good year last year, and he’s a good football player,” Weeden said during a phone interview this week. “But I’m a competitor...
Cleveland Browns 22nd pick could be the pick that makes the difference.
There has been more than ample talk of the Cleveland Browns 4th overall pick in this year’s 2012 NFL Draft. But the potential draft success for this year will also weigh heavily on the Browns 22nd overall pick which was acquired from Atlanta in the 2011 Draft trade that allowed the Falcons to select Julio Jones. Will Heckert and Holmgren’s gamble in 2011 pay...
2012 NFL Draft: Cleveland Browns, You’re On The Clock
After a disappointing campaign in 2011, the Cleveland Browns head into the 2012 offseason hoping to make significant strides toward being more competitive in the AFC North. The Browns, however, have been relatively quiet during the initial free agent signing period, so it would appear that once again they will be looking to the Draft to fill their needs and add depth to a team that...
