Browns general manager Tom Heckert says running back Brandon Jackson could join guard Eric Steinbach on injured reserve. Were still kind of waiting on Brandon, Heckert said on WKNR-AM 850 Tuesday. Hes not going to need surgery. Its just a matter of when hes ready. Saturday is the deadline for cutting rosters to 53. Heckert said part of the decision on Jackson will be based on who else is available. He said he will explore trades and the waiver wire for players at multiple positions. Jackson, who started 13 games and played in the Super Bowl for Green Bay last season, was signed late last month.
