Found September 16, 2012 on Cleveland Sports 360:
If I didn’t see it with my own eyes I may not believe it, Brandon Weeden the man who had a 5.1 quarterback rating in his first NFL regular season game turned things around today to silence some of his credits. Sure it was only one game as Weeden himself would be quick to point out, nonetheless Brandon Weeden looked like a much improved quarterback. Weeden would throw the first of his 2 touchdown passes to Trent Richardson who took the pass 23 yards down the field beating the Bengals defenders to hand Brandon Weeden his first NFL touchdown in over 6 quarters of trying. The Browns were playing from behind, yet Weeden didn’t panic and throw any interceptions in the game. This was an  entirely different Brandon Weeden than the one who completely sucked in week one. Weeden would find his second touchdown pass to Greg Little in the 4th quarter, some fans we just as shocked to see Little hang onto the football they were seeing Brandon Weeden find the end-zone twice in one game. Brandon Wee...

  • Oh yes much better this week for Weedhead and Richardson. Wow!! over 300 yards, no interceptions, and over 100 yards rushing for Richardson. It's evident that the offense played well this week, and horrible last week. The defense played well last week, and horrible this week.

It seems that they only care about statistics how many yards they accumulate, number of rushing pass, etc. They are forgetting that it is a team effort that will take to win a game.

AGain, congratulations Weedhead and Richardson for winning for yourselves only.

Browns so far is 0 Wins and 2 Loses. Go Browns

His 322 passing yards were a Browns rookie record surpassing the previous mark of 310 set by Eric Zeier at Cincinnati on October 29, 1995.” MOST PASSING YARDS IN A GAME BY A BROWNS ROOKIE      ...

Browns 28-Year-Old Rookie Brandon Weeden Hits His First NFL Touchdown Pass

Brandon Weeden finally found the end-zone with one of his passes, it was a short pass underneath the running back Trent Richardson who was able to beat the Bengals defenders to the end-zone for 23 yards late in the first quarter of the Bengals game. Weeden didn’t throw a touchdown for the entire preseason for the Cleveland Browns. Although it wasn’t one of those long accurate...

Cleveland Browns Curse: Brandon Weeden Fails To Stop The Bleeding

It's another gloomy day in Cleveland. After Sunday's road loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, the Cleveland Browns drop to 0-2 on the year. For most teams in the NFL, this wouldn't be any reason to press the panic button and jump ship. But the Browns have now lost their last eight contests, dating back to November of last year when they won a nail-biter over the Jacksonville...

Your Week 2 Early Games Open Thread

On Friday, an unfeeling Internet troll vandalized Brandon Weeden’s Wikipedia page by adding that the rookie quarterback’s nickname is Doopy Pantz. Now, it takes very little to make such a cruel tweak to a Wikipedia entry and the change has already been undone by another user. Furthermore, the derisive nom de scat was most likely applied as the result of one atrocious performance...

Shurmurball Week 2: It gets better?

It can’t get any worse for Brandon Weeden and the Browns offense today in Cincinnati against the Queen City Kitties. But can it be just as bad? And the defense? Did it contain the Eagles last week or did the Eagles contain themselves? The Week 2 NFL picks are here and the rest is your Shurmurball Week 2 support group open thread. Tweet

Browns’ Weeden, Richardson take first steps down the yellow brick road

Dorothy once found herself stranded in a new land with no family or friends. All she wanted to do was go home. But she didn’t know how to get there. She was shown a yellow brick road with the answer to her desire at the end of it. The only way to get home was to take that first step. Along the trip, she picked up life lessons and friends to help her get home.  The 2012 Cleveland...

Richardson and Weeden complete rare feat

Cleveland Browns 1st-round picks Trent Richardson and Brandon Weedenpulled off a rare feat for a pair of rookies on Sunday afternoon against the Bengals. Hopefully Weeden isn't the next Tony Banks They became the first pair of rookie teammates to throw for 300 yards and rush for 100 yards in the same game since 1996. The down side to this accomplishment? The previous duo doesn’t...

Philly Fan Predicts Browns Will Use Colt McCoy In Second Half Of Bengals Game

Interesting even a Philly fan who attended the Browns season opener observed how bad Brandon Weeden played, he said “Weeden sucks”. The same fan went on to say if the Browns have problems producing offensively in Cincinnati the Browns will pull Weeden and play Colt McCoy in the second half of the Bengals game, he also said if the Browns did use McCoy in the second half they would...

Eagles DE Babin fined for roughing Weeden

Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Jason Babin was fined $15,750 for roughing Cleveland Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden in last Sunday's season opener, according to Philly.com. Babin was fined for "unnecessarily" driving Weeden into the ground, even though no penalty was called on the play. He received a fine on a similar play last year for roughing the passer...

Week 2 Fantasy Football Recap: Cleveland Browns vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Cleveland Browns – 27, Cincinnati Bengals – 34What do you know, Brandon Weeden (328 total yards, 2 TDs) actually showed there’s hope yet for the Browns offense, getting his first 300 yard game of the year and keeping the Browns close throughout.  Of course, maybe this is an indictment of the Bengals defense, so don’t go overboard in picking Weeden off your free agent scrap...

Browns move ball but defense dominated by Bengals

“The Browns’ young secondary battled, but was strained by the loss of Haden to his suspension and Brown to a neck stinger.” — Mary Kay Cabot “Last week [against the Ravens] was just bad. This week some of the [Browns' longer gains] were checkdowns that we missed.” — Bengals cornerback Leon Hall “I wish I had a dollar for every hour I put in this week.” — Brandon...

Cleveland Browns vs. Cincinnati Bengals: Hero and Zero of the Game

In a game that was supposed to be one of the more boring games in the NFL this week the clash of Ohio turned out to be a high scoring barn burner.  Both teams wanted to come out and show that last weeks performances were just anomalies and they could really play. In a game with many heroes and no zeros I thought we would do an ode to Hockey giving out the three stars of the game...

The Cleveland Browns: Ten observations from the Browns vs Bengals game

Brandon Weeden played like a 28 year old 1st round draft pick, and that’s a compliment. He broke rookie QB passing records, and that list includes Bernie Kosar, Brian Sipe, Otto Graham and Eric Zeier to bring the list and the accomplishment back to reality. I was one of the biggest screamers that if he did not improve he would have to get yanked by week 6.  After a 26-37...

Idle chatter: A pair of long seasons ahead?

1. That we keep using the word "historical" with the, um, achievements of the Browns offense can not be a good thing. How do the Browns go about getting it fixed? McManamon: Hope. Thats basically what the Browns are relying on at this point. Hope that Trent Richardson gets better quickly and revives the moribund running game. Hope that Brandon Weedens opener was just an...
