A new owner, general manager, and head coach in Cleveland brings new hope that the Browns are on the cusp of turning the corner. The Browns have roughly $48 million is cap space and they are ready to spend.
Who are the top targets the Browns would benefit from signing? According to Steve Doerschuk of Cantonrep.com, there are a few players that fill the voids the Browns are looking to fill. Doerschuk writes:
‘Signing Steelers wideout Mike Wallace, for example, would give new head coach Rob Chudzinski a fascinating young wide receiver corps. It would raise eyebrows in Pittsburgh, where Jimmy Haslam was a minority owner before buying the Browns.
It would cost an attention-getting, season-ticket-selling fortune.
Pursuing former GlenOak-Ohio State wideout Brian Hartline might be more realistic, and as effective.
Signing linebacker Dannell Ellerbe would fill a need at inside linebacker and put a double whammy on AFC North rival Baltimore, which is losing Ray Lewis to retirement ...
