Since the retirement of Kurt Warner, receiver Larry Fitzgerald hasn’t had a consistent source to get him the ball. However, with the arrival of Bruce Arians, Fitzgerald has a very good chance to get his stagnant career jump started, provided he works for it. Arians wants Fitzgerald to do some different things such as, switching sides and playing the slot. “As a receiver, you can’t hand it to them, you have to throw it to them. They can double-cover him, and you don’t throw it to him if he is double-covered and someone else is single-covered. You’ve got to take what is there as a quarterback, but you do have to get him the ball because he is such a tremendous talent,” via azcardinals.com. Arians said, via the team’s website. “When I first met with Reggie, Reggie had been on the left side for 10 years. The first day of spring I put him over there on the right, and he looked like he had palsy. I said, ‘It’ll come. You have to retrain your body here. Wait until I put you in the slot.’ There was buy-in.”

  • Typical., Take one of the best all-time receivers and remake him. Instead you need to get a QB that can get the ball to him. We know what he can do.
  • larry work for it? gimmie a break. he works hard enough as it is trying to catch the ball from the QB's. work on getting a half decent QB, or work with the ones we have, like you did with big ben. but let larry be larry, he knows what he's doing.
  • "If Larry Fitzgerald wants the ball he`s going to have to work for it" Are you kidding me Larry`s been working hard every since he`s been in the NFL, Bruce Arians we know what Larry can do, Lets see what you can do. Geez Bruce you`re starting to sound like another blow hard we had here in Arizona, Can you say Buddy Ryan?
  • This is the mindset of the team with the worst win/loss record in the history of the NFL. I don't blame Arians. He's just another idiot who will ruin his coaching career by aligning himself with the Cardinals. I feel sorry for the guy. He honestly believes his previous coaching methods will bring success. The Cardinals are the most successful franchise in the NFL. Who else can sellout every game inspite of such dismal performances?(the Phoenix Suns). One of the reasons they get away with it is by firing the coach every few years. That gives the "hayseed" season ticket holders a glimmer of hope. Fitz needs to find a way out of his contract and hook up with a team that has a reasonable chance at a ring. He deserves as much
  • This guy Arians is an IDIOT. Just a mouthpiece for the penny-pinching Bidwells, they want Larry F GONE along with his paycheck. They got their stadium, and WAY too many rights to the stadium and it's income. To Larry: You deserve better. I like Larry Fitzgerald on my hometown team, but my hometown team is only after money and we are the suckers.
  • he's right. you put him in the same position every time and any defense can game plan for him. typical az fans that don't know jack about football. arians isn't talking about offseason work and weekly prep work, he's talking about moving him around on offense which means he has to have greater knowledge of the playbook and work more on running routes from different positions. makes a guy harder to defend when you don't know where he's going to line up or what route he's going to run from those positions. you're all probably the same people that thought the kevin kolb deal was a great move.
