This afternoon Fox Sports' Jay Glazer revealed that the Dolphins have traded for Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie. McKinnie, a University of Miami alum, has started 147 NFL games since being drafted in 2002. In 8 years with the Minnesota Vikings, McKinnie was generally solid, starting every game for 4 straight years from 2003-2007. A pro bowler in 2009, McKinnie also had several off the field incidents that may cause concern among Dolphins fans and potentially even the coaching staff if this was a Jeff Ireland fueled move. After signing with the Ravens in 2010, McKinnie got his career back on track, playing a pivital role in their 2012-13 Super Bowl title. During the playoff run McKinnie started every game at left tackle.  The trade was made after poor offensive line play was a key factor in the Dolphins' surprise 24-21 defeat at the hands of the Buffalo Bills yesterday. Tyson Clabo was manhandled by Mario Williams in the fourth quarter, leading to a huge sack that cost the Dolphins the game. Insiders expect Jonathan Martin to move back to right tackle, and that McKinnie will be slotted in immediately at left tackle, although this hasn't been confirmed by the coaches as of yet.  The compensation the Ravens will receive is expected to be a  conditional late round pick.
