The Bucs obviously have a lot of faith in Mike Williams. He joins the short list of Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Percy Harvin, and Victor Cruz as wide receivers whose contracts extend through 2018.
Williams rookie profile at Syracuse was nothing spectacular. Tampa picked him No. 101 overall in 2010. Since then, he has been remarkably consistent. He has played in 48-straight games (three full seasons). His reliability has also been consistent catching 51.2%, 52.4%, and 49.6% of balls thrown his way annually. Tampa Bay knows exactly what they're getting with Mike Williams.
Fantasy Impact: This might slightly decrease Mike Williams' fantasy value. He was going into a contract year; now he has his money. Williams will be tempting to any fantasy buyer having scored 11 times last year. For one, I don't trust his QB - at all. I also don't trust his consistency from week-to-week. This is a valuable consideration for Fantasy players. Williams failed to reach 40 yards in a game 6 times last year, and has only eclipsed the 100 yard mark four times in his career. I have Mike Williams ranked as a mid-level WR4; in the same area as Danario Alexander and DeSean Jackson. If he's still around in your draft in rounds 10 and 11 he'd be worth a solid look.

I’ve done my fair share of mock drafts heading into this season and it always baffles me how some guys fall through the cracks and end up available much later then they should be. Now I realize sometimes this is due to the depth of a certain position, as I believe that is the case with Quarterbacks this year. But sometimes it’s due...
