Found July 02, 2013 on NFL Injury Report:
Entering the offseason, there were those that questioned Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ head coach Greg Schiano’s backing of quarterback Josh Freeman. The team did little to ease this suspicion when it selected quarterback Mike Glennon in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Still, Schiano told The NFL Network yesterday that Freeman is the team’s quarterback. Greg Schiano: We have a quarterback. It is Josh Freeman. He had a really good spring. I am really encouraged. He is going to have a big year — NFL Media PR (@InsideNFLMedia) July 1, 2013 Schiano added that Freeman had a “really good spring” for the team. The coach is “really encouraged” by his head signal caller, as he believes Freeman “is going to have a big year.” That all sounds nice, but in professional sports teams often back up their beliefs with money. If Schiano and the Bucs are so behind Freeman, Pro Football Talk wonders why the team hasn’t signed him to a long-term extension. Despite Schiano’s comments, it will be interesting to see how the year plays out and if Freeman is Tampa Bay’s starting quarterback beyond the 2013 season. Top 5 Landing Spots for Josh Freeman in 2014

Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ quarterback Josh Freeman recently admitted to a radio station that he would be “content” in moving on next season. This of course makes perfect sense with the actions of Head Coach Greg Schiano, because Schiano has publically admitted his displeasure with Freeman. In addition to Schiano’s fingers being all over the wasted draft selection of Mike Glennon...

Greg Schiano shows support for Josh Freeman, again

It started at the combine where a report surfaced that Bucs brass was not on board with Josh Freeman as their quarterback. Since then, head coach Greg Schiano has done nothing but express his support for him. Making a guest appearance on NFL Network’s “NFL Total Access,” the second-year head coach once again answered the “Who’s your quarterback” question. We only have...

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Josh Freeman is the Future at QB After All

Tampa Bay quarterback Josh Freeman is entering the fifth year of his career after being a first round draft pick by the Buccaneers in 2009, and even though he has made a Pro Bowl, the quarterback is entering the final year of his contract. Freeman signed this contract as a rookie, which included $26 million for five years with over $8 million coming in 2013. One would think that...

Will Josh Freeman run more in 2013?

We’ve seen Josh Freeman‘s ability to tuck the ball in and run in the past. In 2012, we rarely saw any of Freeman’s scrambling ability when he had an open lane or when he could have gotten out of a sack or two. Could that change this season? In 2010, his first full season as a starter, Freeman ran for 364 yards on 68 attempts. In 2011, he ran for 238 yards on 55 attempts. But...

Though there were no Buccaneers in the top 10, five Tampa players made the overall list — Josh Freeman was not one of them. Those five players were: Dashon Goldson, Gerald McCoy, Darrelle Revis, Doug Martin and Vincent Jackson — who was the highest ranked Bucs player. Now I know what you’re...

Bucs 'banking' on Revis to be ready

Greg Schiano once again says Josh Freeman is his starter

So much for Mike Glennon thinking he can be the next rookie to become Russell Wilson and banish a team's starter to the bench. That's not going to happen when the head coach continually tells people that the incumbent starter's job is safe. Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano popped on the NFL Network Monday and reiterated that it's Josh Freeman'...

Greg Schiano continues to believe Darrelle Revis will be ready week one

Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano was a guest on the NFL Network last night and he made it clear that he still believes cornerback Darrelle Revis will be ready for week one as he continues to rehab from ACL surgery. I think the best thing that could have happened to Revis was the fact that he tore his ACL early last season...

Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano says Josh Freeman is Tampa Bay’s ‘one quarterback’

After giving rookie Mike Glennon numerous Lewinsky’s, Tampa Bay head coach Greg Schiano now insists the Buccaneers “only have one quarterback” and “it’s Josh Freeman.” “[Freeman] had a really good spring,” said Schiano, 46, a clown’s pocket who thinks he’s tougher than Balls Mahoney. “I think it’s really coming together, being in this system for a second year...
