PLAYERS: Darrelle Revis
TEAMS: New York Jets
The New York Jets are playing with fire, and I hope Jets brass mainly new GM John Idzik knows what they are doing.   Pro Football Talk is reporting that the Buccaneers are willing to trade their 2013 first round pick for Darrelle Revis. Multiple sources with knowledge of the situation tell PFT that the Buccaneers are willing to send the 13th overall pick in the 2013 draft to the Jets for Revis.  The Jets, however, want “a lot more” than this year’s first-round pick. It’s unclear what else the Jets want.  Last month, the Vikings got a first-round pick in 2013, a seventh-round pick in 2013, and a third-round pick in 2014 for receiverPercy Harvin.  It’s possible the Jets want that, or something close to it. It had been previously reported that the Buccaneers preferred to give up their 2014 first round pick instead. That would give the Jets the #9 and #13 pick in the draft which is now close to two weeks away. I’m not a GM but if Revis is not moved before or during the draft, then I’m n...

Bucs “love” Darrelle Revis, unsure of compensation

Within the past 24 – 48 hours, media outlets have reported that the Bucs are in fact willing to give up a first round pick to the Jets for Darrelle Revis. But those reports may have be shot down. According to Mark Cook of PewterReport.com, the Buccaneers are not certain if they will give up a first round pick. Today, PewterReport.com has learned that the Buccaneers are still not...

Jets reportedly forcing Darrelle Revis to attend team workouts to collect bonus

If the New York Jets are unable to trade Darrelle Revis before the start of training camp, it won’t be due to a lack of effort on their part. New York is trying to move Revis and get some value in return rather than having to let him leave via free agency, but that doesn’t mean they are making him exempt from team rules. According to Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com, the Jets are...

Report: Darrelle Revis Would Cost Buccaneers ‘A Lot More’ Than Just First-Round Pick, Jets Say

The drama between the Buccaneers and Jets over Darrelle Revis has hit yet another wall. On Sunday, the Jets said they will be forcing Revis to attend spring workouts if he wants to receive his $3 million roster bonus. Many analysts believed the only thing preventing the Jets from dealing Revis to the Buccaneers was Tampa Bay’s unwillingness to give up a first-round pick...

Jets forcing Revis to participate in voluntary workouts

The New York Jets are once again forcing the hand of their star cornerback Darrelle Revis and, from the looks of things, this relationship is beyond repair. The team is requiring Revis to report to voluntary workouts — that's voluntary — that begin April 15, according to ESPN.com., despite the fact they may trade him in the following days. Revis is currently in Arizona...

NFL rumors: Buccaneers would trade first-round pick for Jets’ Darrelle Revis

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been the team most tied to New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis, who is reportedly available. However, it didn’t appear the Bucs were willing to surrender their first-round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft in order to acquire the All-Pro. However, Pro Football Talk is now reporting that Tampa Bay would be willing to ship No. 13 overall to New York...

Jets Forcing Darrelle Revis To Participate In Offseason Workouts To Collect Bonus

Rich Cimini of ESPN New York reports that the Jets intend to force CB Darrelle Revis to attend their offseason conditioning program in order to collect his bonus money. Revis’ contract specifies that he needs to participate in at least 80 percent of the team’s voluntary workouts or he will forfeit the $3 million. He’s been rehabbing his surgically repaired knee...

Buccaneers Growing “Impatient” Regarding A Trade For Darrelle Revis?

Yahoo Sports’ Jason Cole has been told by sources that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have been actively involved in the Darrelle Revis discussion for quite some time now, may be growing “impatient” with the New York Jets to make a move. Not only is Tampa reportedly willing to give up a first-, third- and sixth-round pick for Revis, Cole also states the team would be willing...

Report: Jets, Buccaneers “closer than ever to a deal”

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Jets are “closer than ever” to striking a deal that will send Darrelle Revis to Tampa. Maybe Jets want similar to what #Vikings got for Harvin: A 1st, a 7th & then a mid-rounder in 2014. But two sides closer than ever to a deal — Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) April 8, 2013 Just like ProFootballtalk...

Report: Buccaneers willing to trade this year’s first round pick

It’s been reported over the past month or so that the Jets want the Buccaneers 2013 first round pick in exchange for cornerback Darrelle Revis,  but the Bucs are only willing to offer their 2014 first rounder.  That may not be in the case. According to ProFootballTalk.com, the Buccaneers are willing to part with this year’s first round pick, but the Jets want a lot more. Multiple...

Report: Jets to force $3M ultimatum

As difficult as it may be to imagine, things appear to be getting worse between the New York Jets and injured star cornerback Darrelle Revis.
