Of all of the stories of fired GM’s and coaches, here’s one that could have been avoided, well maybe. Tennessee owner Bud Adams wanted Peyton Manning badly, he told his GM Mike Reinfeldt to get it done, but somehow Reinfeldt took it on his own not to listen. A bad move when the owner is giving the marching orders. Adams was ready to give Manning the world to go to the Titans and be their quarterback, but it seems Manning never really received the message. Here is the story as told to by Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean: “If you remember, Adams went public with his desire to acquire the former Colts quarterback last March and he’d be “disappointed” if the Titans didn’t get him.” “In the days leading up to Adams going public with his interest in Manning, he repeatedly told Reinfeldt he wanted the Titans to get in the mix. As senior executive vice president and chief operating officer, Reinfeldt was in communication with the 89-year-old Adams on a regular basis.” “Adams felt like Reinfeldt didn’t take him seriously enough. Adams wondered if Reinfeldt even spread the news to general manager Ruston Webster or coach Mike Munchak. At the time, the Titans were focused on making it work with quarterbacks Jake Locker and Matt Hasselbeck.”     var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});
