The Price is wrong, *****. A scary and somewhat bizarre scene unfolded this past Friday night during the CFL matchup between the Calgary Stampeders and B.C. Lions as Stamps receiver Maurice Price, after hauling in a long pass from QB Kevin Glenn, got pushed out-of-bounds by Lions DB Byron Parker.  Price lost his footing and ended up sliding head first into a propane heater stationed on the sidelines.  Normally the opening to the heater is covered by a grate, but this wasn’t the case, and as the announcer pointed out, it’s also the end where the flames are coming out.  Thankfully Price’s helmet took the brunt of the impact, and the 27-year-old wideout only suffered minor injuries.  He’s expected to play next week on the road against Edmonton, where I’m sure the sideline heaters will be placed a little further back from the field of play. Said Price of his unfortunate accident (via the Calgary Herald)… “By the grace of God, I’m here, and I’m fine,” Price said. “Just a minor headache. I hit my head and part of my arm. My arm is pretty bruised up right now, but nothing major” “No, that wasn’t slow motion,” he said. “That was 100 miles per hour. I couldn’t stop myself. I was defenceless. It happened so fast. “I was scared. I was scared. I was looking right into the flames, and I was just doing myself to avoid it. But it was scary though. “There was no avoiding it. The helmet is a little banged up, but luckily it’s the helmet banged up and not me.” Football players and open flames?  I’m sure there’s a NY Jets joke in there somewhere, but I’m just too lazy sophisticated to make it.
