USA Sports 360:
Cam Newton took his Carolina Panthers to a place they haven’t visited for over five years. The team is over .500 with a 4-3 record. Newton played great to get the team’s 4th win of the season. he threw for 221 yards and 2 touchdowns, completely 23 of the 32 passes he attempted. He ran for another 50 yards and he made it look easy to beat the Buccaneers. The Panthers rushed the ball well too. Williams only carried the ball 8 times, but he came away from the game with a 5.4 yard per carry average. He ran for 12 yards on one of those carries blowing over the Buccaneers who got in his way. Williams is a powerful back who can certainly help Newton and his Panther pound out some tough yards when needed. The Panthers fullback, Mike Tolbert helped carry the load out of the back field with 7 carries for 35 yards for a 5.0 yard per carry average. The Panthers looked like a well balance team in the win over Tampa Bay. Now the team just has to stay focused on winning. Getting over .500 is one t...

According to Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer, Carolina Panthers DE Charles Johnson's MRI came back negative for a groin tear and the team is hoping he will be ready to play next week against the Atlanta Falcons.
Carolina Panthers wideout Steve Smith is listed on the injury report with an ankle injury, although he is officially designated as probable for tonight’s game. Smith reportedly injured his ankle in practice on Tuesday when a teammate stepped on his ankle. Smith was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, but is expected to play.
Injury Outlook: Looks like a minor ankle...
From an 0-2 start to back over .500 for the first time in five years. Cam Newton and the surging Carolina Panthers are gaining confidence with each victory.
''At no point did I ever doubt this group of guys,'' coach Ron Rivera said Thursday night. ''Maybe because I'm an optimist, but I really did believe that it was just a matter of time.''
Thursday is Cam Newton’s night. It’s his time to put a show on. He’s without the pressure of a home crowd and can rally his teammates on the road, as the 3-3 Carolina Panthers visit the winless and troubled Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The game kicks off at 8:25 p.m. ET on the NFL Network.
Newton has become the forgotten man among the NFL’s elite athletic quarterbacks. Thursday...
After defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton's post-game interview with NFL Network got weird in a hurry.
When Carolina fell 22-6 to the Cardinals a couple of weeks back, there was legitimate discussion from talking heads about Cam’s future with the team.
Time is a funny thing, because all that talk has gone out the window, and rightfully so. He has the franchise over .500 for the first time in 70 games. Since that loss, Cam has completed 58 of 75 attempts for 667 yards and six touchdowns...
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Cam Newton is playing some of the best football of his career, and the surging Carolina Panthers are back over .500 for the first time in five years.
An efficient Newton threw two touchdown passes and ran for another score Thursday night to pace a 31-13 victory over the winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Panthers (4-3) won for the fourth time in five games following...
Carolina Panthers (3-3) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-6)
The Panthers are much better than their record. Only 4 teams (Denver, Kansas City, New Orleans, Seattle) have better point differentials than the Panthers, who are 2nd in the NFL to only Kansas City in points per game allowed. They are moving the chains at an 80% rate, as opposed to 71% for their opponents, a differential is...
The Panthers have a red hot quarterback, a stifling defense and - finally - a winning record following a three-game win streak.
Momentum is on their side.
And that's a good thing for the Panthers (4-3), who are entering a tough stretch of November games against division rival Atlanta, San Francisco, New England and Miami.
Critics will contend the Panthers haven't beaten...
This is the biggest game the Panthers have played since the 2008 season, where they bowed out to the Cardinals in the NFC Divisional Round.
Sitting at 3-3, a win over the Buccaneers would place them over the .500 threshold for the first time in over four seasons. For the most part, this franchise has been devoid of national press for the last couple of years, but not this week. Websites...

TAMPA, Fla. — In a Thursday Night Football battle of two NFC South teams looking to turn face on their franchise, one continued to improve while the other continued their downward spiral. Behind the efficient play of quarterback Cam Newton, the Carolina Panthers knocked off the lowly Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 31-13. It was Newton’s night […]
Rams defensive end Chris Long and Carolina safety Mike Mitchell got the worst of it, getting fined $15,750 for their actions in last Sunday’s Rams-Panthers contest.
But they had company. All told, five players were fined six times by the NFL, with the fines totaling $55,125.
Long was fined for throwing a punch during a third-quarter scuffle.
“I’ll appeal it, but it is what...
Tiquan Underwood’s fade was about the only highlight for the Buccaneers during their game against the Carolina Panthers. How exactly is a helmet supposed to fit on this head?
Underwood was made famous two seasons ago when he was released by the Patriots on the eve of the Super Bowl.
Football is back to being fun for CAM NEWTON and his Carolina Panthers after Thursday night’s 31-13 shellacking of the reeling Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Newton, whose toothy smile could easily pass for a Pepsodent ad, played spectacular completing 23 of 32 passes for 221 yards with 2 TDs. Newton even ran for a score as the Panthers (4-3) won for the third consecutive time after an...
