Cardinals Will Never Win A Super Bowl As Long As Bidwell Owns Them

My thought on the Cardinals is simple, they need a new owner base. One who knows how to run a first class NFL organization. The stadium the tax payers handed to Bill Bidwell does not make them a top notch organization. The reason I say this is that whenever they get a talented player, whether it is through a draft or a trade, they can not seem to hold onto them. The league has been littered throughout the years with good players who told their agents to get them the hell out of Arizona when their contracts were up. It is a long list but I will focus on one player in particular, especially since they could have used him last Sunday when Brett Favre was matching a record for touchdowns in a game against their porous secondary. I am referring to Corey Chavous, one of the most durable defensive backs to play the game. He left the Cardinals to play for the Vikings from 2002 to 2005 and then onto the Rams where he plays now. There was a story I heard about him while he was in his first season with the Rams. There was a young man in the stands in a wheelchair during pregame warm ups, the boy was wearing a Rams jersey with Coreys number on it, Corey, as the story goes, asked the equipment man if he could get him something to sign for the boy. The guy said no problem and went to the locker room. A little while later the equipment guy emerged from the locker room with another jersey, a football, cap, sweatpants and sweatshirt as well as a sharpie for Corey to sign the stuff. After Corey did so the guy delivered the goods to the awe struck young man who cried with happiness. It was at that time that Corey realized he was truly a part of an NFL franchise. No short changing anything, just class all the way. Whether they still do it or not at this time, I have also heard that the Cardinals make the players pay for their equipment. I found that hard to believe, but if it is true, could you blame a guy for wanting to jump ship and go to greener pastures? There is one other thing they should do to possibly change their luck. Change their name and/or uniforms and make it a team that all Arizonans can participate in naming. And thus truly wrap their arms around the team. Many people in the state feel they had a loser dropped in their laps and do not want to support the team. Now obviously a name or uniform change is not going to make you a winner, but do not try to convince the Denver Broncos fans of that. They won Super Bowls XXXII and XXXIII in a timely fashion right after they changed from the Orange Crush uniforms to their present uniforms, and have been fairly competitive since then. Now if they do not want to change the name, at least they should consider a new look, they can still keep the color red since the stadium bleeds with it, but change the look and who knows what might happen. Change can be good and they obviously need to change something since they look to be off to another one of their seasons of promise that will end in another debacle.
