RB Jonathan Stewart Jonathan Stewart has the talent to deserve the running back franchise tag, only 7.7 million in 2012, averaging 4.8 YPC in his career after going in the 1st round in 2008, including 5.4 YPC last year, when he finally broke out as a pass catcher, catching 47 passes. However, the Panthers gave DeAngelo Williams 5 years, 43 million with 21 million guaranteed last offseason, even though he’s 4 years older, and, backed up against the cap, it probably won’t make financial sense to commit upwards of 7.7 million to another running back, however talented he may be. Keeping Williams in 2011, rather than Stewart in 2013, could prove to be a big mistake. Likelihood: Unlikely

Will Carolina Panthers’ defense let Cam down again?

Last season, Cam Newton impressed everyone in the NFL with his amazing record setting rookie season with the Carolina Panthers. Cam Newton never once let up and showed game after game that he truly was the real deal. Even critics couldn’t deny that Cam proved them wrong as most expected Cam to be a bust [...]

Panthers' Keiser, Bell proof preseason does matter

Go ahead, you try telling Carolina's Byron Bell and Thomas Keiser the NFL preseason doesn't matter. They know better. Bell and Keiser arrived at Panthers training camp last summer as undrafted rookies and heavy underdogs to make the 53-man roster. Both overcome those odds after strong performances in the preseason. Bell made the opening-day roster and started 12 games...

Carolina Panthers 2012 Season Preview

I may have been one of the harshest Cam Newton critics coming into last season.  I knew he had talent, it just wasn’t conventional talent that typically translated to immediate NFL success, and I am not afraid to admit when I am wrong. He had a historically good rookie season, putting up gaudy statistics, and winning over skeptics from all over the vast sea of haters known as...
