Patriots DL Ron Brace was activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list earlier in the season to great expectations. Yet, it hasn’t quite materialized. Brace has been active for five games, but he has just two tackles. The Boston College product has slowly been working into the lineup, but his contributions haven’t been steady. To Brace, who had no preseason, it’s not a surprise. “It’s pretty much what I expected,” Brace said. “I know I’m going to have to work my way into more playing time and it’s pretty much what I expected. It’s going to be a hard road, it’s a road I’m going to have to take, so I knew that’s what I was going to have to do. Just do it, you know?” (more…)

Patriots WR Wes Welker on his kinda/sorta wrist thingie: “Wrist is fine”

We told you on Wednesday morning that Patriots WR Wes Welker was spotted at a charity event with a soft cast on his wrist (right, from Drea Catalano/13 Photography). He wasn’t listed on the injury report, but it’s something to watch. Right? “Wrist is fine,” Welker said today When you’re spotted with a brace around town, won’t people notice? Patriots downgrade four to OUT, including safety Patrick Chung (again)

The Patriots downgraded four players to out, including a player who was thought to be ready to go. Safety Patrick Chung, center Dan Connolly, LB Brandon Spikes, and RB Shane Vereen all were declared out for tomorrow’s game against the Redskins. Chung has missed the last month with a foot injury, and I had thought he would be ready. Maybe they are being overly cautious. As for Spikes...

Patriots down another tackle as they get closer to a date with the Redskins

The Patriots were missing another tackle today. Tackle Marcus Cannon missed his first practice, joining Sebastian Vollmer on the sidelines. That’s what colleague Ian Rapoport reports from the upper grass field. The injury is something new. If he and Vollmer are both out, that’s two tackles, which could lead to the promotion of Matt Kopa from the practice squad. The Pats would...

Patriots defensive player to watch: CB Kyle Arrington

How he beats you: The third-year cornerback has come into his own this season, recording an NFL-best seven interceptions and also leads the Patriots with 65 tackles and 12 pass deflections. The 5-foot-10, 196-pound graduate of Gwynn Park High School does well both in man and zone coverage and has sharp instincts. Said Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan: “He’s got good...

The bar posted a couple of pics on its Facebook page, writing “Thanks for stopping by and being a gentlemen b-4 the big game tomorrow!...

Brady, Gronk lead Patriots past pesky Redskins

Tom Brady threw for 357 yards and three touchdowns, and Rob Gronkowski set an NFL single-season record for most touchdown catches by a tight end Sunday as the New England Patriots won their fifth straight, beating the Washington Redskins 34-27.

Patriots survive in Washington

Rob Gronkowski set the record for touchdown's by a tight-end in a single-season in the Patriots victory over the Redskins Well that was interesting, and not because I’m pretty sure I gained two pounds from the amount of free barbequed meat products I ate before the game. The New England Patriots looked to be in control of the their football game in Washington, DC Landover,...

Redskins' upset bid against Patriots falls short with late pick

Tom Brady threw for 357 yards and three touchdowns, and Rob Gronkowski set an NFL single-season record for most touchdown catches by a tight end Sunday as the New England Patriots won their fifth straight, beating the Washington Redskins 34-27. Brady, Grossman Trade Blows in First Half

The Washington Redskins have matched the New England Patriots big play for big play in the first half at FedEx Field this afternoon as the teams are tied 20-20 at halftime. The scoring started on Washington's second possession, as quarterback Rex Grossman was sacked and fumbled the ball in the end zone after Zoltan Mesko's punt had pinned Washington back at its own 4-yard...
