Fantasy Football Champs:
Jaguars receiver Cecil Shorts (sprained shoulder) had eight catches for 80 yards Sunday against the Chargers.Fantasy Spin:Shorts looked to be a long shot to play when he was having trouble sleeping earlier this week but he ended up seeing 13 targets against San Diego. His day could have been even better but he dropped a sure touchdown on a perfectly thrown ball by Chad Henne. Henne is at least competent and will continue to target the Shorts and Justin Blackmon duo 20-plus times per game.

Jacksonville Jaguars receivers Justin Blackmon and Cecil Shorts III are active and starting against San Diego.
Chargers receiver Eddie Royal also is active.
Blackmon (hamstring), Shorts (shoulder) and Royal (toe) had been listed as questionable for Sunday's game. They worked out two hours before kickoff and were cleared to play. Royal missed practice all week.
One unsuspecting security guard was just doing his job on Saturday afternoon, but the man with “S.A.F.E.” written across his back was anything but that during the Jaguars game.
Justin Blackmon was trying to reel in a touchdown pass during the third quarter when his momentum carried him right out of the end zone and straight into a security guard, who unfortunately had his back...
The Jacksonville Jaguars host the San Diego Chargers this Sunday and may be without a few key players. Chad Henne will get the start again at quarterback with Blaine Gabbert already ruled out because of a hamstring injury. But the Jaguars may also be without their two starting wide receivers, Justin Blackmon and Cecil Shorts. Both Blackmon and Shorts will be game-time decisions...
An unsuspecting rent-a-cop was bowled over by Jacksonville wide receiver Justin Blackmon during the Jaguars’ 24-6 loss to the Chargers on Sunday — and the second-year wide receiver didn’t even help the poor guy up.
Blackmon was chasing down a would-be touchdown pass from Jags quarterback Chad Henne, but the 6-foot-1, 210-pound wideout was out of bounds when he caught...
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Already in the midst of a difficult season, the Jacksonville Jaguars and coach Gus Bradley got a sobering dose of reality on the eve of what was expected to be a rare happy occasion.
Bradley's 85-year-old father, Roy, died Sunday night in Zumbrota, Minn., of what appeared to be natural causes. As a result, Bradley made plans to head north for the funeral...
If I didn’t know any better, I would have guessed the Jacksonville Jaguars would have won last week against the Denver Broncos. Of course that is not the case, but listening to talk radio and the excellent reviews that the all-hallowed ESPN gave them, you would have thought that they might have pulled out a squeaker. There were some good things happening to be sure, and watching...
After the deaths of both Bum Phillips and Bud Adams, plus a game where Oliver Luck got national exposure watching his famous son send the Denver Broncos to the first defeat of the season, perhaps its fitting that the Houston Oilers of the early 1980s are a subject of conversation in Jacksonville.
But the Luv Ya Blue edition of the Oilers isnt the one to whom the Jaguars are being...
Jaguars receiver Justin Blackmon (groin, hamstring) is expected to play Sunday against the Chargers, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.Fantasy Spin:Blackmon missed some practice time this week but was never expected to miss Sunday's game. The receiver is a must-start after accumulating 19 receptions for 326 yards and a touchdown on 29 targets in his first two games this season...
Jaguars receiver Cecil Shorts (sprained shoulder) will play Sunday against San Diego.Fantasy Spin:Shorts went from having trouble sleeping earlier in the week due to pain from his shoulder sprain to being active Sunday. There's some risk that Shorts won't be able to get through a full game but he can be started as a WR3 as he'll likely see 10 targets if he stays on the field.
Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew had nine carries for 37 yards and two catches for 19 yards Sunday against San Diego.Fantasy Spin:The Jags have fallen behind big in most of their games this season and aren't suddenly going to become competitive. MJD also isn't making many big plays, so his fantasy value is entirely tied to whether or not he scores a short touchdown.
Justin Blackmon caught a ball out of bounds in Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers. He then laid out a security guard.
All in a day’s work for Blackmon who caught six passes for 58 yards. (This not being one of them)
It was not enough though as the Jaguars lost 24-6 to the Chargers. The Jaguars are now 0-7 on the season.
The San Diego Chargers will travel to play the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road in Week 7.
San Diego (3-3) will be hoping to cross over the .500 mark with a win against winless Jacksonville. (0-6)
Coverage of the game between San Diego and Jacksonville will air on CBS at 1:00 pm ET from EverBank Field in Jacksonville, FL.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Philip Rivers threw for 285 yards and a touchdown, Ryan Mathews ran for 110 yards and a score, and the surging San Diego Chargers beat the winless Jacksonville Jaguars 24-6 Sunday.
The Chargers (4-3) showed little, if any, issues with a short week, a cross-country flight and an early start time. And they played nothing like a team looking ahead to its...
When one of my oldest and dearest friends (who happens to be a pastor) asks a hypothetical question like, “At what point does a true Jags fan hope the losing streak continues so the team will have first draft pick and possibly get a real quarterback?,” all I can do is shake my head and ask the same question.Or, I could reply and ask him for some divine intervention. Something...
The Jaguars Cecil Shorts might be listed as “questionable” by head coach Gus Bradley, but the team’s leading receiver seems to think he will be ready for Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers.“Shorts, whose status for Sunday has been in doubt all week because of a sprained SC (shoulder) joint, worked on a limited basis Friday as the Jaguars went through their last...
