Patriots Mailbag: Stevan Ridley Looks Ready to Carry Load, Kevin Faulk Could Join Coaching Staff

There were more questions than I knew what to do with for this week's mailbag, so I want to thank everyone who submitted one. In reality, I could have used 20-30 of them, and the readers deserve a pat on the back for that. Let's get it going. Hi Jeff, when are the Patriots planning to sign their draft picks? Do you know if they are any closer? -- @hhRafael24, via Twitter...

Belichick's son joins the family business

The New England Patriots have hired Bill Belichick's son as a coaching assistant, making him the third generation of the family to try his hand as a football coach. The team said Thursday that Steve Belichick will join his father's staff. Bill Belichick's father, also named Steve, was a fullback who played for the Detroit Lions and coached in college, spending 33 years...

Bill Belichick’s son joins Pats as coaching assistant

On Thursday, the Patriots announced a slew of coaching changes, including, most notably, the promotion of Matt Patricia, who will serve as the team’s defensive coordinator. Though tweaking his staff is a regular offseason chore for head coach Bill Belichick, it was a bit different this time around with his spawn coming aboard. Per ESPNBoston.com, Steve Belichick, Bill’s son,...

Revis stands by criticism of Belichick

Darrelle Revis still is upset with Bill Belichick. The All-Pro cornerback says Thursday that the way the Patriots coach ''disrespects'' the Jets is uncalled for and not professional. Revis called Belichick ''a jerk'' in March on a TV show. He says ''when you make it personal, say things that are personal,'' about opposing players...

During today’s New York Jets media session, cornerback Darrelle Revis really let loose and stated that he doesn’t like both Patriots head coach Bill Belchick and quarterback Tom Brady. Revis was asked to elaborate more on why he called Belichick a “jerk” during a word association game he played on ESPN. “I gave my honest opinion,” Revis said. “You guys know me very...

The Reiff Stuff: Lions rookie in good company

After his recent retirement, the career of Pro Bowler Matt Light can put some of the criticisms of Riley Reiff in perspective.

A well armed Tom Brady now has many options available

We’ve seen Tom Brady with and without a complete arsenal. He’s done it with ultra talent like Randy Moss, and he’s made it work with the likes of Reche Caldwell. Brady is the ultimate adjuster, making the most of what he has. If it’s top shelf as in 2007, they put up major numbers. However, if the offense is unbalanced, Brady cuts the field and gets the ball out quick. In...

Rich Ohrnberger to try out for Giants

If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. That’s what Rich Ohrnberger is hoping to do, as the former New England Patriot will attend a try out with the world champion New York Giants. As you may recall, the Giants beat the Patriots in this year’s Super Bowl for the second time since 2008. Ohrnberger had been a member of the more recent Pats Super Bowl losing squad, although he...
