Corey Liuget, Jared Gaither and Antwan Barnes aren't practicing Thursday afternoon. All three are getting "mental reps" by observing their positional groups. Wide receiver Vincent Brown, who isn't in uniform, is another observer at Chargers Park. Brown, who sustained a broken ankle on Aug. 18, said on Wednesday that he is "sure" he'll return this season, but he's yet to catch passes. For now, he's limited to light running and rehab exercises. The Chargers don't have the talent to win it all, so where are they going. Week 10 preview.

Philip Rivers has talent to play QB, he just doesn't have anything to work with in SD.  I don't think that he can win if he stays there.  I think he'd be a better fit somewhere that already has offensive talent.  We'll see what happens this offseason.  I'm sitting at 84-49 heading into the weekend.  I need to have a huge run to get over .750 for the season...

NFL fines Chargers for 'sticky' towels

The NFL is sticking it to the San Diego Chargers. The league announced Wednesday that it has fined the Chargers $20,000 for trying to hide towels with a concealed "sticky" substance to enhance grip during an Oct. 15 game against Denver. "The NFL has determined that the club did not violate a competitive rule by use of the towels," the league said in a statement...

The San Diego Chargers Are Accepting Any And All Challenges

One of my biggest complaints about when I visit my family on the left coast during football season is having to be up at the ass-crack of my dawn to perform my normal Sunday morning routine of checking my fantasy football lineups, making a big breakfast, laying on the couch and scratching myself. However, never have I actually thought to myself, “What if I was an NFL player for...

San Diego Chargers: Week 10 NFL Power Rankings (#15)

Last week: 15 (+0) Record: 4-4 I was not impressed with their showing at home against the crappy Chiefs last week. If not for two defensive touchdowns, that could have easily been at the very least an embarrassingly close win to an inferior opponent for a team that held a 3 game losing streak coming in. They can’t keep relying on their defense to score like that every week. I am...

Bolts fined $20K in sticky towel case

The NFL has fined the San Diego Chargers $20,000 because it said a member of the equipment staff failed to immediately surrender towels when ordered to do so by a game official against the Denver Broncos on Oct. 15. The NFL also said in a statement Wednesday that after investigating the Chargers' use of towels that included an adhesive substance, it was determined that San Diego...

Bucs game day: Keys to the game against the Chargers

The Buccaneers are looking to continue their offensive success from the past four weeks. Rookie running back Doug Martin rushed for 386 yards and five touchdowns on the ground the past two games but may have a tougher time against San Diego on Sunday.  Keep that play action going often With Martin’s recent success the past few weeks, the Bucs should expect the Chargers to crowd...

San Diego Chargers at Tampa Bay Bucs: Three Bold Predictions

As I looked through this season for the Bucs and Chargers, I discovered an interesting little fact:They have both played Oakland, New Orleans, and Kansas City (the Chargers played the Chiefs twice), and both won against the Raiders and Chiefs but lost to the Saints (the Bucs missed overtime by a penalty).San Diego and Tampa Bay also have combined for one win against an opponent...

Week 10 Fantasy Football Hot 'n' Not - Start'em Sit'em

HOTQB            Philip Rivers –Rivers has had 10 days off to plan for this big game against the Bucs with both teams being 4 and 4. He should get Meachem and Royal back and have his full complement of receivers. West teams typically don’t travel well to the east coast, but welcoming them is a Tampa Bay team allowing the 8th most fantasy points to QB’s. They’ve...

San Diego Chargers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Week 10 NFL Pick

San Diego Chargers (4-4) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-4) The Buccaneers are surging thanks to Doug Martin’s improved play and the improved chemistry between Josh Freeman and new free agent deep threat acquisition Vincent Jackson. Josh Freeman has a cannon for an arm, but he wasn’t using it last year, throwing 20 yards downfield or more on just 6.5% of his throws, by far least frequent...

Chargers-Buccaneers Preview

With a rookie sensation at running back and a fourth-year quarterback who's finally coming into his own, the surprising Tampa Bay Buccaneers are starting to look like a playoff team. The San Diego Chargers have the same record and are also just outside the playoff picture, but they haven't looked much like a contender lately. The surging Buccaneers try to win for the fourth...
