Found August 10, 2013 on NFL Injury Report:
Despite no new injuries being announced after Thursday night's 31-10 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, San Diego Chargers rookie linebacker Manti Te'o showed up to practice Saturday sporting a walking boot according to NFL.com's Chris Wesseling. After practice, Chargers head coach Mike McCoy announced via the team's website, that Manti Te'o suffered a foot sprain and will not practice for a week. He would not specify how or when the injury occurred, but did say that it was diagnosed after the game. It's always important to get reps in training camp and in the preseason, even more so when you are a rookie. Luckily for Te'o, he will only miss a week of reps which shouldn't have too much of an impact on the rookie linebacker's development. Regardless, nobody wants to get injured in their first game as a professional. Te'o was on the field for two defensive series for the Chargers. He did not record a tackle and had trouble freeing himself from blocks. However, despite his shaky preseason debut, it is still unlikely that Te'o will lose his starting role at inside linebacker.
