San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates said he will return to the lineup in Week 7.
Gates, who has been battling plantar fascia, has sat out the past three games.
He tore scar tissue in his right foot in the second game of the season.
Gates, who had eight receptions in Week 1 and did not have a catch in Week 2, said he had planned all along to be back after the Chargers' bye week.
San Diego heads into its bye with a 4-1 record and will visit the New York Jets on Oct. 23.
