Grant, a former first-round draft pick in 2002 by the New Orleans Saints, played poorly for the Nighthawks in his first two games, recording only one tackle. The NightHawks were making room for Dewayne White, the first pick in this year's UFL draft, who joined the team yesterday. The move, however, came with skepticism. Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com, despite crediting a source who confirmed that the NightHawks waived Grant in order to make room for White, speculated that Grant may have dogged it in the UFL in order to get back to the NFL. Said ProFootballTalk.com: "Though we've got no reason to doubt our source, we can't help but wonder whether Grant knew about the opportunity with the Bears before being waived by the Nighthawks. ...
