The Raiders and Charles Woodson are having a reunion.
Both Woodson and the Raiders on Tuesday agreed to a one-year deal, according to Jay Glazer.
Woodson met with the 49ers earlier in free agency, but aside from that the interest for the 2009 Defensive Player of the Year was paper thin. That is, until a week ago.
That’s when it reported the Raiders had offered a contract to the future hall of famer. He then also met with the Broncos.
On Tuesday, Woodson, still yet to put pen to paper with any team, visited the Raiders at Raiders HQ, where fans gave him the Justin Bieber treatment.
Woodson played the first eight years of his career in Oakland as one of the game’s top cornerbacks. He’s since switched to free safety while playing in Green Bay. The Raiders aren’t solidified at the position, and Woodson, even at 36, is an instant upgrade. It’s a move that makes sense for both sides.
Here are the figures on the contract:

Right now as it stands Monday evening, Charles Woodson remains a free agent. Tomorrow, the Oakland Raiders plan to meet with the veteran defensive back with the hope of bringing him back to the Silver and Black, where he first suited up in an NFL uniform. Now that Charles Woodson is back with the Raiders, the burning question that many have is: “Will he wear 24 as his jersey number?”
SHUT UP, THIS IS IMPORTANT. There are countless Raiders fans dusting off crumpled old No. 24 Woodson jerseys dug up from the doldrums of their closets or dressers (yours truly included). None of those people wants their newly relevant jersey being...
Charles Woodson will receive quite a greeting from Oakland Raiders fans when he makes a free agent visit to the team's facilities on Tuesday.
A few of his potential teammates in Oakland will give him a warm reception as well.
Woodson spent his first eight NFL seasons with the Raiders after being selected with the fourth overall pick in 1998. He signed with Green Bay following...
Our friends over at Gurunation are die hard Oakland Raiders fans, and while both are pretty open about telling people their favorite team, they thought it was only right to compile a bunch of clips from C-Wood’s career and post it on our site. Charles Woodson is already a first ballot Hall of Famer, and was a very huge pick in the 1998 NFL Draft.
The best part of Charles returning...
Either due to nostalgia or stinginess, Charles Woodson agreed to a one-year contract worth $1.8 million to rejoin the Oakland Raiders on Tuesday night. Taken by Oakland out of the University of Michigan fourth overall in the 1998 draft, the 36-year-old Woodson also landed a $700,000 signing bonus from the Raiders. Clipped by the Green Bay Packers in February, The Denver Post reports...
The Oakland Raiders have signed veteran free agent safety Charles Woodson to a one-year deal worth approximately 1.8 million dollars. The contract reportedly could escalate up to 4 million dollars if he can hit certain bench-marks.

I didn’t think he’d do it. I really didn’t. When the Green Bay Packers let him go, I thought Charles Woodson would come to his senses and retire. After all, he’d had a good run. He won an NCAA National Championship with Michigan in 1997. He was the only defensive player in NCAA history to [...]The post Why, Charles Woodson, why? by Rourke Douglas Decker appeared first on...
The Oakland Raiders have agreed to a one-year contract with cornerback Charles Woodson, FOXSports.com has learned.

Its all come full circle for the 1997 Heisman winner.
Recently free agent veteran defensive back Charles Woodson wondered publicly why he and some other quality veterans (i.e. Brian Urlacher, Dwight Freeney, etc.) were still without jobs. They might be older, but they can still get the job done as good if not better than these young bucks!
Freeney signed with the Chargers over the weekend and now Woodson is off the market as well...

Former Green Bay Packers defensive back Charles Woodson was one of the last top-notch free agents on the market this season. After being courted by many teams considered to be Super Bowl favorites in 2013, Woodson decided to instead return to the team that drafted him into the NFL – the Oakland Raiders.
Wasn’t much of a market for Woodson, so he decided to come back to his original team.
