The Oakland Raiders want safety Charles Woodson back, but the free agent said Thursday on SiriusXM NFL Radio that he is prepared to retire if the offer isn’t fair. “I think at this point, if the right numbers don’t come across, for myself and from the team’s standpoint, then it is a serious consideration at this point that I could have played my last season in the NFL,” Woodson said, via San Francisco Chronicle’s Vic Tafur. “So that’s definitely something that I think about. I do plan on playing another year. Hopefully something can get done with the Raiders but if not then I’ve got to take a real hard look at this last year being the last one.” Last year, the 37-year-old Woodson left the Green Bay Packers and signed with the Raiders after the Denver Broncos didn’t offer any guaranteed money. Woodson made $3.4 million, but he says the entire league is cheap when it comes to veterans. “I don’t think it is just the Raiders,” Woodson said. “I think it is the NFL as a whole. When you get past a certain age it’s no longer really about what you do on the field, it’s about your age. Everybody looks at your age first and then maybe what you do on the field second. So there’s no rush for any team to sign veteran players. It’s not just a Raider situation, it’s the league.” The post Charles Woodson will consider retirement if Raiders offer isn’t fair appeared first on Sports Glory.
