For those of you who started your Chicago Bear studs this week, you had yourselves a great Sunday. If you're just a fan of the team, you also had a great Sunday — even if you were facing somebody starting any Chicago Bears because a team victory trumps a fantasy victory any day. Of course, the week after we tell you to drop Jay Cutler and he isn't worthy of a roster spot, he shows me up by tossing three touchdowns to Brandon Marshall. But with how good Marshall has been this year, somebody has to give him the ball, right? The defense is the defense, and special teams even made an appearance as Chicago dominated all three phases of Sunday's game against Tennessee en route to a 51-20 win. Here's the weekly wrap-up of how your Chicago Bears did for your fantasy football team. Quarterback: Jay Cutler – As we mentioned above, bad call on our part telling you to cut Jay Cutler. Should've known playing Tennessee would be be beneficial, but we didn't predict this. Granted, two of the touchdowns to Marshall came in garbage time with the game firmly in hand, but they still count on the stat sheet. He accumulated 20.36 fantasy points in Yahoo! standard leagues making him a Top 10 quarterback for Week 9. Had he not lost the fumble, he would've been in the Top Five. Running Back: Matt Forte – Matt Forte was the No. 6 running back this week. It's actually funny that the No. 1 fantasy running back, Doug Martin, more than doubled Forte's score. Even though Forte was almost 30 points away from the top, his 20.80 points were his best of the 2012-13 season. If this was a close game, god only knows how many points Forte would've had. He received just 12 carries in this one, and took them for 103 yards. He even caught two passes for 45 yards. But his workload was cut significantly because of the score. Backups Armando Allen and Michael Bush received 10 carries each and were much less effective than Forte as the two of them combined for just 48 yards. Wide Receiver: Brandon Marshall – Brandon Marshall was head and shoulders above all other wide receivers this week. He was a vacuum playing wideout as he reeled in nine of the 10 balls that came his way, three of them for six points. His 30.20 fantasy points were easily his best output of the season and he's making a case for himself as the best receiver in the NFL. Other Skill Players – We don't know why we still waste our time here. Nobody did much of anything, and it'll likely stay that way until Alshon Jeffery returns from injury — or Michael Bush decides to be a touchdown vulture. Tight End: Kellen Davis – Not one target for Davis this week. Luckily, he isn't owned in any fantasy league (or at least he shouldn't be for the 10,000th time). Kicker: Robbie Gould – Gould was tied with Cleveland kicker Phil Dawson as the No. 1 fantasy kicker this week. Gould connected on all three field goal attempts, one from 40 yards out, and all six extra points. The performance gave him 16 fantasy points, and a total like that will happen when a team scores as much as the Bears did on Sunday. Defense/Special Teams – Stop me if we're repeated ourselves, but the Chicago Bears were the No. 1 defense in fantasy football this week. How many times has that been said? Usually, the defense does it alone, but special teams decided to chip in with a blocked punt and touchdown of their own. Yes, aside from the eight points on that play, Brian Urlacher returned an interception 46 yards for a score giving the defense another eight points. In total, they finished with 27 fantasy points, making the fourth time this year they've totaled more than 20 points in a week. This defense is a special defense, as we've alluded to earlier in the week, and they might be the most important player in terms of fantasy football this season, as they have 52 more points than the No. 2 fantasy defense in the league. Don't expect another amazing fantasy week like this out of the Chicago Bears, but they should still put up competitive numbers for you the rest of the way.
