The Kansas City Chiefs had a complete turnaround this past season, coming off a dismal 2-14 record in 2012 and finishing at 11-5 with a trip to the playoffs in 2013.  After a disappointing 44-45 loss in the first round of playoffs to the Indianapolis Colts, the Chiefs dove right into personnel matters for the upcoming 2014 season. The first thing to address was their interest in keeping quarterback Alex Smith. Few issues are deemed more important to the Kansas City Chiefs over the next few months than re-signing Smith to a long-term contract extension. The recent comments of chairman Clark Hunt to Kansas City sports radio 810 WHB are another indication the Chiefs intend to do so.“When we made the trade for him a year ago, that was part of the thinking," Hunt said. "I don’t think that thinking has changed. He came in and did a nice job.
