The KC Chiefs will enter Saturday's Wild Card match-up with the Indianapolis Colts without their starting right tackle in Eric Fisher. Meanwhile, Pro Bowler Tamba Hali is questionable. The Kansas City Chiefs have ruled starting right tackle Eric Fisher out of Sunday's playoff game against the Indianapolis Colts. Outside linebacker Tamba Hali has been listed as questionable. Missing Fisher is not ideal for the Chiefs but they can certainly handle it. Donald Stephenson has proven himself on a few occasions this year while filling in for Fisher and Branden Albert. If Albert or Stephenson go down during the game, Geoff Schwartz would likely move to the tackle and Jon Asamoah would replace Schwartz at guard. But we're getting down to the third team here so that's all up in the air. Let's hope that doesn't happen.

Chiefs LB Hali, RT Fisher miss final practice ahead of Colts matchup

Chiefs linebacker Tamba Hali remains out of practice with swelling in his left knee, leaving his status for this weekend's playoff game in Indianapolis in question. Right tackle Eric Fisher also missed the final workout at the Chiefs' practice facility Thursday before the team departs for Saturday's game. He strained his groin earlier in the week. Chiefs coach Andy...

Chiefs' Charles leaves with possible concussion

INDIANAPOLIS -- Kansas City lost running back Jamaal Charles with a possible concussion on the opening possession of its wild-card game at Indianapolis. Team officials said his return was questionable. Charles was hurt on his third carry of the game and stayed down on the ground for several minutes before walking off the field under his own power. Team trainers tended to him on...

Engel: NFL still not connecting the dots about concussions

Listening to Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe talk about it Wednesday, his concussion sounded so benign. What he described sounded symptomatic of taking a couple of Tylenol PM rather than a blow to the brain. Not that his "just a little fatigued" answer really mattered. All anybody heard, and I am culpable, too, was that Bowe had been cleared to play in Kansas City'...

GIF: Kansas City Chiefs Scores Again On Alex Smith’s Shovel Pass

Alex Smith had a disappointing career as a member of the San Francisco 49ers (for the most part). In his first year with the Kansas City Chiefs however, it has been a completely different story. Alex Smith has led the Chiefs into the playoffs and has three TD passes in the first half. His last one was a shovel pass, in which he created something out of nothing. The post GIF: Kansas...

LB Justin Houston's return a much needed shot in the arm for defense: 'It’s very tough knowing that if you were out there, you can make a difference'

In his first 10 games, Kansas City Chiefs LB Justin Houston had 11 sacks and was a cornerstone on one of the league’s top defenses. However, things started to head south for Houston and the defense as a humbling defeat given by Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning in week 11 and in week 12 against San Diego, Houston dislocated his elbow, an injury that kept him out for the remainder...

GIF: Jamaal Charles Appears To Get Knocked Out

The Kansas City Chiefs started the first drive of the NFL Playoffs in the best way possible, by scoring a TD. It was a very impressive 82-yard drive that involved both the running game (Jamaal Charles) and Alex Smith. However, it was not all good news as Jamaal Charles headed to the sidelines at the 11:49 mark with a possible concussion. The post GIF: Jamaal Charles Appears To Get...

Dyed Red Fountain Meant To Honor Chiefs Instead Resembles Horrific Crime Scene

In a move that feels like the plot to a sitcom, Kansas City Parks and Recreation dyed a city fountain red in recognition of the Kansas City Chiefs making the playoffs (Red Friday, as it’s officially being called). As you can see, the dye job did not go according to plan — unless by “dye job” they meant “make it look like somebody actually died“. [Deadspin] Article found...

Kansas City Sports Editor Tweets Picture of Sunday's Sports Headline (it's AWESOME)

Losing sucks. There is no denying it. For fans of the Kansas City Chiefs after beating up the Colts in the first half of Saturday's game only to lose 45-44 in the end--sucks doesn't do what they feel justice. Nope, Andy Reid. What you just said doesn't do it justice either. However, the headline for the Sunday Kansas City Star certainly does!@cjzero/TwitterAwesome.@jeff_rosen88...

Wildcard weekend: Chiefs injury report

The Kansas City Chiefs finished the regular season at 11-5 and made the playoffs, which is remarkable considering they only won two games last year. Now they are focused on advancing in the playoffs and ending their 20 year drought without a playoff victory. Last week the Chiefs knew they could not better themselves with the playoff seeding so they rested their starters against the...

The Day Everything Changed For Alex Smith

Let’s play a game for a minute. Imagine you’re an NFL quarterback for a team filled with a rich and successful history. Your life’s history is also laden with success: you graduated college with a 3.74 GPA and earned a bachelor’s degree in just two years, you just lead your college team to an undefeated season, and you put up such gaudy numbers in college that you’re looked...

Kansas City Chiefs at Indianapolis Colts: Recipe for a KC defensive masterpiece

Kansas City Chiefs (11-5) at Indianapolis Colts (11-5)Kickoff: Saturday 4:35 PM ETLine: IND by 3Perhaps the most evenly matched of the wild card games, it's difficult to find real separation between the two on paper. Because of this, I feel the spread was arbitrarily given to the home team. While the Colts will hold some advantages playing inside in Indy, the Chiefs have traveled...

Colts' First Priority: Stop Jamaal Charles

The MVP resides in Denver this season in Peyton Manning, but his runner-up is undoubtedly Kansas City Chiefs' running back Jamaal Charles. The University of Texas product and world's most complete back has his eyes set on obtaining a playoff victory for his ever-faithful fan base this Saturday as the team travels to Indianapolis to take on the Colts in a wild card matchup...
