Former Heisman trophy winner and Carolina Panthers quarterback Chris Weinke has been wokring with Cleveland Browns QB Brandon Weeden at the IMG Football Academy in Bradenton, Fla., and Weinke likes what he sees, according to Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer.
"Brandon's got a special arm, no doubt,'' Weinke said.
"I'm very impressed with him. I'm excited to see how he continues to develop and I think the future is bright for Brandon Weeden.''
Weinke happens to be the director of the academy, and has also helped QB Cam Newton in 2011 during the lockout to get him up to speed with Rob Chudzinski's offense in Carolina. So this only makes sense to work with Brandon, with coach Chud in Cleveland.
Weeden isn't Cam Newton, but this instruction can't hurt. "The thing we're really focusing on with Brandon is footwork and having a sense of urgency with his feet,'' Weinke said . "He's a gifted natural athlete.''
