Cleveland, Art Modell, and the Hall of Fame: More than Just a Grudge

In the wake of NFL Hall of Fame voters' most recent passing on Art Modell's candidacy for enshrinement, a new facebook page has been dedicated to keeping Modell out of Hall, and it's  already gained some 1,500 members in little over a week.I signed on myself yesterday, and in response to the suggestion here that I did so only out of 'hate' for Modell, I reconsidered what my gut told me was the right thing to do.  On reconsideration, I've confirmed that, in fact, I did do the right thing by joining this facebook group, and have further concluded that you should join it too.Cleveland fan or not, there are simple and good reasons to keep Modell out of the Hall that aren't related to Cleveland fans' hate for him.  For starters, there's a big difference between hate and a legitimate desire for justice.  Take all the hate out of the equation and justice still tells us that Modell be kept out of the Hall; mainly because keeping him ou...
