Lawrence Vickers brought something to the Cleveland Browns that is missing this year, Vickers brought his toughness to open up holes Hillis could burst through and Vickers could pass block too. The Browns have no one on this team that plays the game the way Vickers played. Sure some are thinking why is Vickers occupying a spot on the Houston bench if he is that kind of player. If that is the case you need to ask why Hillis only has 211 rushing yards this season.
Vickers, that is why. Talk to anyone who played with Vickers, they will tell you Vickers played a huge roll not only in providing block and opening holes for Hillis, he also provided great pass blocking for McCoy too. If you look at old film you would see Hillis running and it would be Vickers leading the way. Why in the heck the Cleveland Browns didn’t resign this tough guy named Lawrence Vickers is really beyond me. They could have really used his services right about now.

Cleveland Browns D’Qwell Jackson a different type of elite linebacker
Next to offensive linemen, linebackers are the hardest position-player to quantifiably, as well as qualifiedly, evaluate. It’s easy to look at a guy like Ray Lewis and understand the positive impact his play has on the teams defense, but where the evaluation gets tricky– even deceiving–is for a guy like Indianapolis Colts, Pat Angerer. He leads the league in tackles...
Andre Johnson given rest day – status unclear for Sunday vs. Browns
Houston Texans coach Gary Kubiak said All-Pro wide receiver Andre Johnson was given the day off to rest, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.
Kubiak said they pushed the talented wideout during Monday’s workout, and Johnson was sore.
The big-play pass catcher has missed the last four games while recovering from surgery on his hamstring.
Originally, the former...
Should the Browns hurry up?
BEREA, Ohio If the average Browns fan can see that Colt McCoy and the offense have been more effective in the two-minute or no huddle offense, why dont the Browns play to that strength from the get-go?Bear in mind, the Browns have been outscored 44-3 in the first quarter. Some of McCoys bright spots this season have been when he was in the shotgun. He led the Browns to a game-winning...
Midseason Report Card: Special Teams
Here is the midseason report for the Texans special teams. The Texans kicking game has been suspect so far this season. The thought of Neil Rackers missing the field goal in the Oakland game put the Texans in a bad position late in that game and he missed an end of half field goal against [...]
Browns Add Thomas Clayton, Waive Brian Robiskie
Due to the injuries to both Peyton Hillis and Montario Hardesty, the Cleveland Browns have signed running back Thomas Clayton and waived wide receiver Brian Robiskie. Robiskie was drafted in the second round few years ago and lost his starting spot to rookie Greg Little this season. The Browns must be more confident in the rest of [...]
Jacksonville Jaguars Media Whines, Houston Texans Media Replies
The Houston Texans are finally getting recognized in the NFL, although it may not be for the right reasons. As I reported Sunday, after the game, Jacksonville Jaguars players Terrance Knighton and Jeremy Mincey complained that the Texans were playing “dirty” football in their matchup. Well apparently the media surrounding the Jaguars have taken this accusation quite seriously...

Andre Johnson misses practice, day-to-day for Sunday
We’re no closer to knowing whether or not Andre Johnson will make his return from hamstring surgery against the Browns. The Texans held Johnson out of practice on Wednesday because he was sore after a workout on Monday. Kubiak downplayed the development, saying that it did not rule out anything for the weekend. “We’re still…
Browns RB Peyton Hillis Practices But Status For Sunday Still Uncertain
Browns running back Peyton Hillis will be on the practice field, but Cleveland coach Pat Shurmur doesn't know if he'll be able to play for the first time in three weeks. Hillis has missed the past two games with a strained hamstring he injured on Oct. 16. He returned to practice for one day last week, but suffered a setback and sat out Sunday's game in San Francisco....
Idiot Fan Gets Idiot Tattoo to Celebrate the Texans' Super Bowl Win This Year
Things are bigger in Texas. Like, for instance, Chris Brown of Midland, Texas is a bigger idiot than almost everyone else in the country (certainly more so than us East coast elites; I'll let the flyover states battle for the title amongst themselves.) Taking a page out of the Dallas Mavericks' Jason Terry's playbook, Brown had the Houston Texans logo, and the word'...
Texans WR Johnson to miss practice as recovery continues
Andre Johnson won't practice with the Texans on Wednesday. Otherwise, his status to return from a hamstring injury is the same as it was last week: He's day to day.
